    If true, as a vet, I find the Marines' behavior unprofessional and embarrassing to the uniform. I can only hope an investigation occurs, and if guilty, that the Marines responsible are made an example of.

    Saddam was a shitbag, but that doesn't mean we need to lower our moral standards and professionalism.

    I know that Microsoft says there's no difference officially. However, independent tests (Google them) and my own personal tests indicate that 2008 is still superior in performance. The independent tests done reflect the same experiences.

    Consider this a second for NerdKits. They're great. You get a great project book with simple but solid theory, a bread board, and a sandwich bag full of components and wiring.

    I carried an iPod 20GB to the summit of Rainier (>14000ft) and several other >10000ft peaks, with frequent manual song changes. No problems, the damned thing still runs and still holds a battery charge.

    Microsoft probably factored in Volume Licensing/Software Assurance customers into this to fudge their numbers. Just because a license is bought, or "bought" doesn't mean that people are flocking to Vista. In fact, I see quite the opposite in the IT sector.

    We haven't missed jack shit. You're missing the fact that "unlimited" should reasonably mean "unlimited", not 5GB a month. And it's not insane for a cell phone when you consider the most popular data applications for cell phones are streaming music and video.

    - PalmOS beats WM hands down when it comes to human interface

    - Most Windows Mobile devices I've used have just plain sucked. Crappy battery life, constant crashes and lags and other problems. However, I recently switch to a Treo 700wx and I must say its not plagued with any of these common WM problems. It's stable, has a battery life that doesnt seem to differ much from my old 700p, and just overall works really, really well. Maybe the stuff I blamed on WM isn't WM's fault at all and lies with poor vendor integration?

    For a real life comparison, they are like the Air Force with air conditioned, reinforced tents in "war" rather than the Marines left to cover up with whatever they might, their jackets, a rock... anything but no air conditioner.
