"We'd all prefer to have that pleasure be shared with a warm-bodied partner, but we will also seek the pleasure alone, or through the stimulation of one or more of our sense"Hopefully i did that right i hate coding..
think about the necropheliacs man! they dont want a warm-bodied partner!
This is a community and we all the the right to our own opinions. Most people who populate on this website just happen to like firfox better then MS for x or y reson or a multitude of them.
Slashdot itself, I don't think is a major advocate, and even if it was, it is the owners and editors opinion.
I see people who would bash Kerry or Bush on thier own respefctive websites, and though I may not like thier ideas, they have the right to say them, I just dont go to those websites. You have to put up with people when it comes to a point like this.
I do not know whether it was the comments or the actual articles that has caused you to question this but hopefully you realize they are jnot forcing you to change(unlike the patent offices recommendations to go exclusively to IE)Personally i think all websites should be required to be open to every browser.
"Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong." ~ Dennis Miller
#1 i do not believe a tax on recordable cd's is anywhere in the future due to the nature of software companies and that they are more commonplace then ever. I do believe this is the next desperate move by the RIAA to pin lagging sales, artists moving to or starting up thier own labels that arent under the riaa, and the fact that even after all of the P2P programs were basically rendered null, their profits are still shoddy. The next step in thier program is tobegin more and more copyright protection. With each new wave of protection placed on the disks, people will find more ways to crack them. The RIAA has gotten themselves into a losing and viscious cycle. I do not remember whom said it but i think the best quote to cover this is.." A liar, when confronted with facts, 78% will lie to back up the original lie"
In my opinion what has caused us to stall so much is Big Business. Yes they have led to some great innovations, just think how much they have stifled by having people sign contracts that "any innovations and ideas you come up with during your course of working here belong to said business" This is why I love google and their pet projects idea. While we have come a long way, we could have gone so much further if not for Big Business shutting out ideology. Look how many times the oil industry has shut out innovation due to their "investments". I sincerely believe that it is due to the oil industry why we are not using cleaner and more efficient cars today. We see articles such as the car getting 250mpg, yet an industry with millions of workers could not come up with this first. We must let imagination be free, and must get big business out of politics before we can see innovation change!
ok #1 he could have had the packaging tape and digital camera long before this..The website( i assume with the donations) is self sustaining. Fed Ex boxes are free...nice try there though. No where in the Fedex policy does it say that the boxes are only to be used for shipping so they are screwed on that note..He is not charging people to see the sight, nor is this a business, therefore using the boxes in the way he did is perfectly legal(with the basis that the boxes are used as artwork)The dmca should never have came up with this legal standing as it does not work. Any judge should laugh this out of court, but unfortunately since fed ex is big business it will probably mean the end of the site, with defamation charges against this guy and court costs+lawyers fees+restitution...
OK i kow this is opttopic but please help. The lien in your sig comes froma asong..what is the name of that damn song..i have been looking for it for months!. thanks~
~and the first from his country to die in space~
RIP Colombia Crew. You took the walk amoung the stars most of us wish we could, now they are yours to walk through for eterity.
Ilan Ramon, a colonel in Israel's air force and former figher pilot, became the first man from his country to fly in space
due to history of prior art via slashdot(someone made this as a random comment months ago), you owe someone else $.02 for even thinking about thinking..Paypal preferred~
Actually according to most studies, Obesity and Stress are the 1st and 2nd entries on thier lists of health problems.Go ahead and typ in #1 health problems...go ahead..i am waiting...
no the #1 health problem is living..Seriosly what study do you base that off of. Please provide documentation of where you get your facts. Not only am i a non-smoker but i agree that smokers have been oppressed with to many laws..look at davis california..no smoking while walking down the street, no smoking on your front porch things like that..in certain parts of LA (the well to do areas)they have what looks like surronded bus stops and thats the only place you can smoke on the street..i wont even go into the no smoking on beaches rant..wait yes i will the politician who pushed that bill through, also ran lots of bills through for the garbage industry to be able dump in the ocean(submerged dumping)..what was he saying again about"cigarrete butts look bad on the beach", yeah especially when they are right next to your trash
how about sending the waste in robotic spaceships to be sent to the sun..it would be a viable way to rid ourselves of the waste..there are many studies done on this but noone has come up with a cheap enough way to transport it. I think since the space industry is becoming privatized more and more veeryday we are going to be seeing this in less then 10 years..
Not to mention the fact its those same aircraft carriers fighting for our frredom to do what we like(like farm corn, sugar and whatever else out there..You want to push this argument, go into cost for the judicial branch to lay laws to protect the farmers from going under, the cost of the subsidies that the governments give to farmers, cost of insurance agencies to protect the farm in case of tornados and so on and so forth!
I dont like the idea of the back uni-leg rather then the normal fold down legs..depending on if I am typing in my lap or on my desk , having the keyboard tilted really does make a difference..I am sure this is where they store a lot of electronics, but that could be really annoying at times..
I believe that each bill should be looked at individually. We pay our lawmakers big money and work as much in a year as i work in 3 months..Maybe if they didnt have so much free time on thier hands, they wouldnt be able to be bought out by all these major corparations..(ok i know they still will be bought out) Make them pass one bill at a time, and force each rep to read each bill...There were major problems for a while with reps not even knowing something had been added to the bill. Things like national ID card and Patriot Act come to mind on why we should force this process..Sure it might take a bit longer but i guarantee that bills that should not be passed that ride on coattails, would not be passed..Like they said about the National ID card, its guaranteed since it was coattailing on the back of a wartime spending bill...That my 1 cent...wheres my change!
Ok but at the same point if i make a website on how to create bombs, and some stupid ass decides to come along and build one to blow someone up, I cannot be held responsible. I was just providing information, i am not thier accesory nor thier accomplice. Just because a Store sells a gun(legally) does not mean that they are telling someone to shoot someone else. Instead of the industry suig this fuy, they need to be going after the actual site which had the infring ing materials. At least in the US there are laws to protect people from handling information. Thats all this guys was doing was acting as an information source. Just because someone teachs you something that could be illegal, does not mean that they are forcing you to do that illeagl act!
Lets see who gets that far first..civilian or government spacecraft...I bet you it will be civilian (bill gates in the Windows 2012 rocket!)..what starts happening when all these civilians start taking plots of space for thier very own..who has right to tell them no?..Like they are going to listen to someone on earth. What happens when someone puts the first data centers in space..who will be able to control them..duh duh duh..the MPAA/RIAA Space Patrol!
this isnt insightful..this is just plain common sense..god why are posts like this always this modded up..people have genuine ideas that are insightful and the moderators give points to this!
Ok here's my suggestion, If anyone wants to hear it. Why not build a movable wall (that slides up and down) out of thick material, so when something like this happens, you press a button, and the steel walls comes up from out of the ground encasing the shuttle. I know people are going to ask what about a top for this thing...hey like Lewis Black says...we have domes over our arenas, why not here. Sure it might cost a bit, and take a bit of time, but why not take care of our million dollars toys, just like people put car covers on cars...just a thought!
Yeah why is this never in calipornia?(yeah thats supposed to be a p)..hell we even had strippers and hookersrunning for our governorship..i vote to change the name!
Ahh but man creates new things every day, white blood cells..and who said we were creating anything...the big bang takes care of that
Where are all the dinosaurs in the bible..dont tell me..Gods practical joke?..Just remember there is no DOG..only Zombie Spot
Yes and very soon there will be no over the air broadcast thanks to the other acts being pushed through because the FCC wants all the airwaves back to redivide the soectrums to better assist emergency services. Everything will be digital.
Plain and simple, for services to work correctly, you cannot have 50 different companies stringing wires, cables, pipes in major cities, there is not enough room. This is the reason why companies like SBC have had to lease out thier lines to the competition at a mandated low lease rate. To be fair in business practice, i think that both businesses should be labeled as both telecommunication/information services and that they should both be required to lease thier lines to other companies at mandated lease rates such as what SBC must due right now. Then and only then will you see true competition in the marketplace.
oh and far as getting satellite, there are quite a few people who cannot receive satellite tv for numerous reasons(Apartment complex will not allow satellites due to liability. This was pushed on them by insurance carriers.)By making this argument you are showing that you have not looked enough into the situation to provide any useful information Anonymous Coward
And one thing..were you ever stationed in a war zone overseas?Ever see any real combat. No i bet not...
Oh and they only pump out specified tradesman..hell, if some rich bastard could drive a hemitt down the middle of the street i would probably have a mechanics job..
And i hate to say it but it wasnt the military who turned your life around. The gave you some guidance and some rules. You turned your own self around..I hate how everyone says the military changed thier lives..no you changed your own damn life to become the military's robot.
