I'm sure you can plunk down millions of taxpayers dollars for a tighter system that.01% of the population would appreciate, but why?
Agreed. Why should I have to pay for something the industry is doing on its own initiative? And don't think the government is going to do a better job that three independent groups, because it won't.
Besides, come on. There is only so much information you can put into one little square on a game box. Unfortunately, the person buying it still needs to use their brain a little and think if it is appropriate for their children...
Well, you can't buy music or movies or video games that are for 18+ unless you ARE 18+, so while it isn't illegal, it is clear that someone else got the game for them. So if you aren't going to blame the kids themselves for their actions, the blame still shouldn't go to the video game they shouldn't have been playing, it should go to the people who let them play it.
In my opinion, they still probably knew what they were doing, knew it was wrong, etc. and what game they got the idea from is irrelevant. They could have gotten the idea from watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air for that matter....
I'd have to agree. I haven't used any other of these kind of products, but when it comes to watching cable on a laptop, MCE does a really good job.
I'm not really sure why everyone hates it so much, unless they want it to do things it isn't made to do, I don't know.

Well, actually, one of the main things about spyware adware junk is that it doesn't ask you to install it. If it does, it's not as much of a problem. It's software that installs itself without your knowledge and without your consent that we're really worried about.
This is almost always a setting somewhere, either in windows or the bios. Or, you can always remove the little button that turns it off when the lid closes. Shouldn't be too hard.
Well, since "semantics" deals with the meaning of words, I guess he's right!
Too bad Red Hat is FREE, and support is an OPTION. Does Microsoft have that option? Do they even have support? I mean, like a service where they help you, rather than a service where you get to call and wait for someone who is completely incompetant to tell you to reboot? And charge you $19.99 per minute for it?
"Myth 1:Linux is just as easy " - Well, parent disagrees, but I agree. I have (many times) had Windows crash during install. Linux, well, sometimes it does, too. And I work at a help desk where most of the people I see are too frightened to even think about installing an OS on their own, wouldn't matter what it was. They can't even install Office themselves.
"Linux has lots of great applications...but there are very few apps for Linux that my mom can use without calling me." - Again, I work at a place where most users cannot open Outlook on their own.
"His Myth 3: Installing software is easy with Linux. " - It can be just as easy as Windows, double click on the little icon...or it can be just as hard as Windows ("Wha?! Why doesn't this work, waaa!") The difference is, you can almost always find help for the Linux software online, compile it yourself for your own machine, etc. For Windows software, if the installer doesn't work, you are stuck.
People are claiming Window's UI to be so "intuitive" and consistent...well, sorry, it isn't. It is only intuitive if you have been using Windows all your life...and then they move things on you!
Oh, and, yes, MY MOM DOES THIS. Amazing, she can use Google, too!
Some SCO news. I was almost going crazy wondering what they were up to!
Kept looking around behind me to see if they were sneaking up on me...
Wondering what venerable ideal they would attack next to bolster their bottom line...
A lot of stress relieved here!

Well, it WAS a secret! Not anymore, now, is it?!
Thanks a lot.
but that isn't the point - it's that the book presented the theory as fact.
it was only old people in Korea? Now they have then in the Netherlands and Belgium, too?!

ENHANCE! ENHANCE! Ahh, there's our suspect...

Just install the windows plug-in (from the plug-in menu) and select the option.

I thought the "testing" phase was when the bugs were worked out...oh, well.
In bed with a beautiful woman, protecting the world.

I'm still trying to figure out how lubricant is going to help me golf better....oh, well. I suppose anything would help.
I mean, after all, 80% of all statistics are made up on the spot...
Word doesn't even get Word formatting right if it isn't the exact same version, so I'd say Open Office does a pretty good job of it.
Yes.
