With all the hollywood accounting, I hope he at least makes his original 100USD. But most likely he won't get anything and with a bit of bad luck, he ends up loosing money.
He failed to mention that openSUSE only has KDE as the standard on the DVD. The DVD allows you to easily select GNOME and with one more click XFCE (and some more options). There are both a KDE and a GNOME Live CD available on http://software.opensuse.org/
That is why tinurl has a preview: http://tinyurl.com/preview.php You could argue wether this should be on or of by standard, but it is good that you have the ability to make your own choice.
I will help you. The dead sea is already such a big hole in the earth. So just let it stream in there. As it also will flood the most troublesome part of the middle east, that is yet another problem solved.
Perhaps there is a general rule when it is not right to go against things that are wrong. I think many people hold up the rule of 'Tomorrow, because today it is not that bad.' Perhaps Rosa Parks should have waited a day and just stand as it was not the right time and place to protest.
The really scary part is not that he stand up to his masters, but that he stands up to other peoples masters. Now some might say that he has no rights to get involved in anything, because it is not his country and I would say 'right back at ya.'.
Still no reason to walk somebody against a window. I don't care if it was Osama Bin Laden himself.
it is not something a society should agree with.
Remember that "Innocent until guilty" part? It is not the officers part to decide that he is guilty and evene more not decide to give anybody a punishment 'because they deserve it'.
When I see the series Cops on tv, much of it would be called police brutality where I live. More then once have I seen that a person is stopped and police persons are yelling contradicting commands and attack if the person does not respond within 0.5 nanoseconds.
But then as nobody complaints about it, it must be something the American public agrees with.
Look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WnHqboN1ws and think how many cops would have been tazering the guy and would be much rougher if this was happening in the USofA.
As opposed to Windows where there is plenty of user documentation?
The difference is that people need to install Linux and Windows is already installed. Give a user a pre-installed system and he will have the same amount of questions as with a Windows pre-installed system.
However many people are not just users. They are system administrators as well.
You ask two differnt questions. The first is how to burn a CD. The second is what man command you could use. Using a man command will not burn the CD so has no relation to the first question.
If I am going to do work during my commute it will be on a laptop or netbook, not a mobile. I suspect a lot of people feel the same way.
I would love it if all the people who use their Blackberry to email replies would do the same. I can wait an hour for those people to get to adesk and send a reply. If I can't, I will phone you. Oh and stop emailing. "Will get back later to that." or "Thanks."
In my car I have two clocks. One on my radio and one on the display. When at home or at the office, I have a clock on my PC and on the wall. When I am out with friends, I almost never am interested what the time is.
On a good day I check the time on my phone perhaps 4 or 5 times (High estimate). Takes me about 5 seconds. Just measured it. So that is about 30 seconds Now you could call that wasted time, but most of the time I do that is when I am standing with somebody and am talking. It is not as if I need to stop doing what I am doing to look at my phone for the time.
In reality the time difference will be about 0. Due to irregular working days I sometimes really do not know what day it is and I have mixed up AM and PM in the past. Never happend with my phone as watch.
I also have turned of auto-sync just as I had no auto-sync on my watch in the past. So to me a non-issue as well.
I google with http://clusty.com/ It gives me much better results as well. I do not care for 500.000.000 results. I want to get to the information as fast as possible.
Sure they could read it. That does not mean they know what the stuff means. Say I burn a movie on it. Perhaps they will be able to determine that the name was 'Britney Spears Concert.avi'. Now that you have that name, it means almost nothing. They would know perhaps who it was (Some godess, otherwise they would not find so much reference to her.)
That does not mean they would be able to figure out the codecs that you need to watch the movie.
Take something simpler. A word document. You would probably be able to read parts of it, but to understand it all will be a hell of work.
Well, if youi are a developer, you could think about putting your stuff on https://build.opensuse.org/ where you can build not only for openSUSE and SUSE, but also for CentOS, Fedora, Mandriva, RedHat, Debian and Ubuntu.
Because what I often see is packages build for one distribution, but often not for many.
The reason they started with zypper was the problem of speed. In the beginning it was slow. Now it is seriously fast. And yet you can still use yum if you want that. It is there. The choice is yours.
Even geeks on slashdot refer to it as [...] "SuSE Linux."
Then they must hand over their card as soon as possible. It is openSUSE or SUSE Linux Enterprise for some time now. The latter is the 'official' Novell one and is also called SUSE. openSUSE is community based where Novell is a very important part of the community.
For those who don't know, Yast is basically the configuration tool for *everything*
It is also used for the installation itself. If you make your own openSUSE or SUSE based distribution, you can completely change the whole installation process. http://forgeftp.novell.com//yast/doc/SL11.1/ has a TON of information and if you desire you can even write your own modules.

Please tell me then when the time and place is.

Because it is a given. You do not blame gravity for falling.

I assume that the first question is more urgent.

Or you start here: http://www.google.com/linux
Become national heroes, you mean? And get rewarded and statues and streets named after them?
If it is about robots.txt, I am with him. I dislike any type of opt-in.
However, going opt-out now is unfortunately way too late and this is about getting money from Google.
Back to good old American Hamburgers. At least nobody ever got sick or died eating those, right?
Or in other words: People do stuff with food that might be harmful. There is no reason to take out Sushi in particular.

Give me the most expensive camera and give Annie Leibovitz a phone with a camera and lets see who comes back with the best pictures.

Only on /. would I get interesting mod points for this while I was aiming for funny.

Well, then keep on using yum. It is still there.

e.g. the part about automated partitioning under AutoYaST.
