You have to be fucking kidding me.

I'm a citizen of the UK and the social and public service problems that Thatcher caused, with her "No such thing as society" stance and rapid privatisation, invalidates any possible reason for Thatcher to be considered good.

For the record, I am a member of the Liberal Democrats and believe that Blair is just a Thatcherite in disguise.

I have an idea. Rather than watching campaign commercials, read each candidates Wikipedia page.

    John Kerry
    George Bush

That way you get unbiased info untainted by either party, with all the nitty gritty details. Try it with friends, see if they switch allegiances after seeing the truth.

I always wondered about that... in Firefox .10PR (and in previous version I used) Slashdot's main content area overlaps or runs flush with the left nav. No padding, no margin, whatever. I remember reading articles on A List Apart about redoing Slashdot, which made me wonder why this was still happening.

Is this a problem with Firefox or with Slashdot?

Um, you must be new here. I can't remember how many comments I've seen bitching about that. Put simply, it's a FF rendering bug which we've had for ages and can be solved by doing Ctrl-Scroll Wheel Up and then Ctrl-Scroll Wheel Down.

  17. Re:Something not so funny about Bill Gates ... on Bill Gates Gives $20M to CMU for New Building · · Score: 1

Personally, I object to honoring Bill Gates for anything. As far as I am concerned, he is an unethical shmuck who bears principal responsibility for the suicide of Gary Kildall. Search on "Gary Kildall" if you do not know who he is.

This is odd because I can find nothing of the sort anywhere that would link Gary's death to Gates. Wikipedia says he suffered a fall at a bar, which seems to discredit any idea of Gates being responsible...unless he pushed him of course.
