Any argument for which you cite the BNP is likely to be bullshit. The BNP, if you don't know, are a far right racist political party known to be a haven for neo-Nazis, anti-semites and general racist motherfuckers. They fucking hate all the media because all the media realise that they're racist motherfuckers. As for the Telegraph article, it seems as though the murder was completely unrelated to any work he did for the BBC, even less BBC News. He happened to murder somebody, after being employed by the BBC.

As for the left right scale, CNN and PBS are leftist, Fox News are right wing twats and MSNBC I haven't seen enough of to know.

For the record, I get my news from the Guardian (left wing newspaper), the Independent (nice, politically independent (although VERY slightly leftist) newspaper which employs Robert Fisk), the BBC and CNN International (a completely different beast from the American CNN, with more concentration on world affairs). Anybody looking for radio can do no worse than the BBC World Service. If you haven't noticed, most of those are British (and even CNNI comes from London). That's because we kick ass :)

Stop doing shit like this. Yeah, it's "fun", yeah it's "cool", but it's gonna piss Google off so much that they'll just put more and more limits on the service which piss off the majority to stop the minority.

I don't know about you, but I want to READ MY FUCKING EMAIL with GMail, not use it as some file storage solution, file system, blog client and kitchen sink. Leave it be. Google is generous, they've released APIs and other fun shit to do with their service, and they've been nice enough to let people try their beta service. If I lose that service because morons like fucking with it to store their porn, I will be MAJORLY pissed off.

Don't be so fucking selfish and stick to the friggin' ToS already.

Who still buys RIAA artist CDs?

Recently I've bought about 4 CDs, totalling about 75 dollars of music (50 gbp). Why? Because I like the artist, I want the included artwork and gimmicks and because it is only fair that the artist, the record company and the music store and anyone else involved in the production of the record get paid. If you like an artist, I mean REALLY like an artist, you will be happy to pay for their music. Can't call yourself a fan of some music if you're not willing to pay for it,

    YMMV.

All sensible people use Audioscrobbler and get their charts. They take into account what people listen to and not what they buy, meaning that it is less skewed towards teenyboppers and one hit wonders (which have low replay values) and fairer towards good bands.

I'm REALLY glad you weren't my parent, and I hope you aren't anyone's parent. I made some mistakes as a kid - but you know what my parents did - made damn sure I learned from it while ALSO being supportive and understanding, like a good parent should; not berating me and ranting b/c they were pissed off, unsympathetic, cynical adults.

I wouldn't be sympathetic with my daughter if she videotaped herself jilling off and then sent it to someone. Of course, she wouldn't, because I wouldn't be so fucking stupid as to just let my daughter do that sort of shit. Libertarianism is for adults, you can't just let (I assume) prepubescent kids run around and do shit and not give a flying fuck. Even if it did happen, which it wouldn't, I would probably go and unstraighten a certain little bastard's jawline, as well as giving my daughter a good telling off for being fucking insane enough to post her own homemade pornography on the Internet. Then I'd go and hate myself for not doing enough.

And before the feminists attack me, the same would go for any kids I may have, including sons. (And I'm generally a believer in sexual freedom for adolescents as well, so it isn't that. Just fucking common sense.)
