it is a smart move for microsoft, look at their neibour, china.
With the skilled workforce of india and low cost and then less restrictive laws as such countries as china it would make perfect sense to be based in india for the middleeast and asia market.
not really, they want to hire 3000 more people, with 1.7billion to invest that works out at 141,666 usd per year, eh........[transmission ended reason="*packing bags and moving to india*"]
i agree we've all missed the main point of the story, its not really about nazi's its really about the authors work was reverse engineered to discover the date, now isn't that against the DMCA? if not i have a viable reason to reverse engineer software, i'll just call it a virus
well if it was the 88th anniversary we could look towards the chinese for creating it...
in china the number 8 is the most luckiest and 4 being death, the number 88 is a common term for *bye*bye* (ba shi ba)
so 88 would be "we're lucky, so good bye"
imagine a new type of advertising on the street, one where the audience creates the attention for the advertisment, one where the audience can stand and watch or play along.. its brilliant!now its time to seek capital investment.
ok and yes you can steal the computer and webcam, coming to a street near you...
well vlc for me works 90% of the time, i use it as my personal tv player since tv in china sucks (output to svideo, love nvidia), so now i have VOD with pause:D all via the httpd interface, it only crashes after a week or so of deleting and adding items to the play list, so now i'm going to go over and compile this sucka for freebsd, well done guys
here's a funnier thing, how would the chinese bloggers know about the bbc and what their doing, i live in china, shanghai to be specific, but, bbc.co.uk is blocked or prehaps the bbc's server is down, excuse me bbc but is your one server down which you do everything from?
that i doubt, anyway this filtering shit is really annoying, but on the otherhand all the pRon websites load faster since i dont have to fight for bandwidth with everyone reading the beebs website, oh and all those millions on computers in china that are infected and drone's that try to connect to no-ip.com dns's! their is some good to come from this filtering
hang on let me check googles cache, oh wait, thats blocked too, what about installing tor, oh wait thats blocked oh maybe i should phone my friends with skype but i need to download it first, opps thats blocked too.
guess i should go read chinadaily for my upbeat news on the world!
all i know is he needs to be nominated: www.darwinawards.com
he probably slipped but point proven he wasn't the smartest cookie in the jar
shit i'm going to go jump off a train because slashdot users are EVAL(with a capital I), and as a result my family members will sue slashdot for my death!
since itunes has a large marketshare of the legit mp3 market, they now have some power behind them, now what itunes should do is ask those labels that want multiple price points to pay for their service, since, well, they havn't gone through the cost of developing a network and product like apple have. so i'd say for it to sell on itunes they should pay per album (or song).
Microsoft hopes its Internet protocol television system (IPTV) will also be used in India, China and other developing countries, where it could provide education and government services as well as entertainment via the television.
china? with its internet addiction? will they require you to wear the head gear also while watching tv?
also, allow people to watch tv that isn't controlled 100% by the government? ok they thinking about messing with the chinese now the'r done with the americans.
in my line of work, mixed media, i wont work or take on any projects relating to ciggerets, because, well they are there to kill people, even with a large amount of cash they are waving in my face and when times get hard i have to ask myself "can i eat this week? what work do i have lined up".
I know plenty of people that wouldn't miss a nights sleep working for them and taking their money and designing for them. probably the same for this company.
I've even refused offers because one off the companies clients was dunhill.
i hate flash driven advertisments, especially when the page is already overloaded i dont need ones that render a shit load of lines and spin them to overtake my cpu, even a 2.8ghz processor seems bunk against those beasties.
serious note, these companies were probably forced into doing this because they have setup offices in china, if the government tells you to jump, you do it, you dont even ask how high.
well they control the pipes in and out of china, so the users are fucked either way, its a bitch to be searching google images for a product to get to page two where the images stop loading and you cannot move to any pages for 20-30minutes because you've just been penalized.
it'd be a dream come true if china would stop filtering, as most of the time, speeds pick up, alot!
ok, i'm sick of hearing 'open source this' 'open source that' to be honest, it sounds like a chinese propaganda attempt to convince the masses that its a bad idea. send out 30,000 people to post all over the internet (mainly bbs's) the point they want to get across, de-pants the victim and then point fingers at them.
-- i dont care if i made a spelling mistake or that my grammer could use a lesson, if you got them point, great, if not, tough!

i'm guessing it only takes 6 people to spread a worm around to everyone you know on aol.
Isn't it 6 degrees of seperation?
i for one use bitlee for my IM'ing.
ehm ok, i'm not saying it was me but somone i know done this when he was 12yrs old, that was 11 yrs ago, so that person i know was ahead of the times?
but atleast he switched barcodes with similar products such as "ipod shuffle ipod nano"
amatures dont realize the years off skill involved! if you want a job done right, you got to a professional (1800-joe-blags-shit)

just a thought
wasn't it IBM that was supplying the Nazi's with devices to sort the jews before they were executed? so you want to celebrate what again?

we're all going to die, eventually!
my money is on the UN to stick their nose in, in a few years.
so who'd they steal this one from?
serious note, these companies were probably forced into doing this because they have setup offices in china, if the government tells you to jump, you do it, you dont even ask how high.
wow, now you know how it is for us in china. especially via sprintlink, can you say 2000ms of latency? they claim china is over using their bandwidth.
never mind the business concept, what about a waste of the earths resources!
its either green for 'them' or green for us.
