Well, it's not just that the moon is "low on observable life", it's that it has NO life, and no atmosphere. Besides, have you been to the Grand Canyon? There is much life! There is no "environmental equivalence" between the Earth and the moon. It's not an aesthetic question.
Besides, mining the moon for every gram of He3 would not change your view of it one iota.
Interesting. I got to that article from google.cn, this quote included:
"I am certain that even that minority would
not care to be associated with the totalitarian and murderous
government of Communist China -- unrepentant perpetrators of numerous
atrocities against its own people. "
Hear hear! Not to add to your obvious troll, but three fp's in one day?? What does he do, sit in his parent's basement all day long pressing F5 and cut/pasting from Wiki with the other hand?
Thanks, that link was interesting and you made alot of good points, except the one about Linux and desktop OSs... Solaris has a rocking good desktop manager.
Actually, what she said *was* insightful. In fact, it's almost exactly what PC Mag had to say HERE, here's the quote:
"Has this ever happened to you? You've just snapped some great pictures, and you want to quickly transfer them to your laptop to e-mail them to friends. But you left your camera's cable somewhere else.
SanDisk wants to make that problem go away"
The algorithms chosen *are* important, and in some cases you shouldn't simply reach into the API toolbox and use the third-party solutions
Here, here! That's exactly the reason why a technical degree is a plus: you are going to get practice with these techniques and algorithms--if it's a good school.
The camera literally costs the manufacturer a $1.50 dollar to throw in
Care to site a reference for that? I suspect what you may be referring to a low cost of materials (even that seems low to me--CCDs are not that cheap), but the sales and manufacturing costs can be quite high on such items.
I'm curious how you could have gained enough experience on eight different DMBS's to give such an assessment? Honestly, I'm not trying to flamebait--but we have Oracle vs. MS SQL discussions here at our IT shop and they become very technical, very detailed (tpc.org, etc.) and that's just a two-way comparison.
You are either (a) a product reviewer, (b) unlucky enough to have been bounced around among these systems, forced to learn them all, or (c) full of B.S.
the Delta 4 Heavy will primarily service military--rather than commercial or scientific--interests
You're right. There seems to be competition for cheaper, lightweight alternatives that appeal to the commercial sector, like Europe's Arianespace. The military gets all the *really* big toys.
Not on Pocket PC. PIE--to say it kindly--is a pile of shit. Seriously, if you don't agree you probably haven't tried it. Ever notice the number of competing browsers available for PPC devices?
In my experience, the first thing a *serious* PPC user will do is buy a real browser.
Sorry, I just don't see how hundreds upon hundreds of spinning blades, thrashing though the flesh of golden eagles, kestrels, hawks, etc. could possibly be "beautiful". On the other hand, you might find Yucca Mountain or a waste treatment facility beautiful, so, yeah... I guess it is subjective.
On your other point, you are wrong, most of the objections have *not* been dealt with. Thanks for not quoting an OBJECTIVE source to back up your statement.

that honestly is the funniest thing I've ever seen on /.
OT? I thought it was one of the few informative FPs and exactly what the book review was covering. Sorry I don't have mod points to counter.
How would you correlate the two sources?
If you're interested in sending fan mail,
TripMaster Monkey is really Michael Hokenson of
1515 Crystal Lake Cir. Apt #5, Green Bay, WI 54311
I'm sure he'd appreciate anything witty or insightful, especially if it's received early in the day (First Mail gets priority reading).
While I don't agree that it looks like Papa Smurf (he wears a hat), the icon really is odd, you're right.

Sad.
And pathetic
Lol... Yeah, that would really juice up 3D gaming wouldn't it? Hmm imagine a cool-atom Nvidia chipset revving up Q3, baby. I want one too!!
Part of the Slashdot community? Hmmm, smells funny to me.

The actual "victim" in these cases is almost always the creditor
OK... but isn't GP still making a valid point re: his ability to repay the stolen money?

Jesus is a profit
No kidding. Christmas was a godsend for this economy.
And there are no tsunami's
And there are very few good speller's.
I have a serious question. I live next to the Puget Sound. Would a Tsunami affect inland coastal waterways such as the Puget Sound or the Bay Area?
Suddenly I don't feel so bad about living in Missouri.
BLUE STATE ALERT!
This is Slashdot. We hate you for being from Missouri, you should feel bad.
here's my rough assessment of the field

The NBA probably just couldn't handle the violent level of EA's tough corporate culture.

Just stick with IE, people

As to being unsightly, that's very subjective.
