to bad symphony is a horrible product that is worse than its base, I speak from having been forced to use it for the past 5 years, at least 3.0 is a step up. I would use open office if it and symphony would display files the same. symphony likes to do crazy things with open format files
heck all games offer drunk mode this way. I remember being drunk at my 30th, then trying to play call of duty 3 and just watching the sky spin as I could not control what was going on then having to turn it off as I almost puked
I like the HF books as well, Even the head Rush books have been good. The head rush ajax book was very well written. and helped show how some of the basics worked. The cartoons and color and everything kept me interested. In my team here we use them pretty heavily, as there is no formal education here.
Or the ones who give you a bad address and it takes 6 months for it to come back with items missing as it was out of country. Or the buyer who bids on 4 of the same item at once and then says nah I got this other one. Or the person who gets the item, replaces it with a broken version and sends it back demanding a refund. Or the one that starts asking you to go through all these hoops to get the money. it is much more complex than just paying or not paying. I have sold a good bit on ebay, and always charge exactly the shipping cost. sometimes the buyers make it not worth it. I have only left around 10 negatives and a few neutrals for all the items(2000 plus) I have sold, but I feel the negative is a tool to be used, especially for the ones that stop responding, send payment in a form you do not accept, or start coming up with some other story about the item. One guy got all excited left me negative because he said the item had not arrived, but was SITTING on his front porch, he just never looked. That one I decided to leave no feedback. It can be frustrating as a seller when these issues come up
The other thing to point out is some divisions within are turning to using the ODF format exclusively, and documents in word format will get rejected. I am an IBM employee as well, and being that I am in lotus, we switched to notes 8 a while ago. While it is not fundamentally a leap forward, the productivity tools(the name for the integrated ODF, ODS, and ODP editors), and the ability to be able to write plugins(since it is the eclipse framework) give it a head up over the previous versions by a long shot.
funnily enough the originators of the book of erotic fantasy lost their d20 license because of QUALITY standards from wtoc and had to switch to just ogl(Open gaming License)
Just to be clear the software division is, Lotus, Rational, WebSphere, DB2, Tivoli and those make alot of money for big blue, not just lotus and slowtus notes
Yes they ought to follow the law, My cousin was broadsided when an officer ran a red light, with no sirens and no lights, just had a stupid moment, ran the light and broadsided her car. broker her pelvis in 4 places, an emergency c-section, and still walks with a limp to this day. Is it to much to ask that they follow the laws like everyone else when not in an emergency?
and considering some of the new players do upconverts whats the point as well(you can get a 100 up converting dvd player, that puts out 1080i from your regular dvd, and most people are going to say thats good enough for me, look all my regular dvd's just got better
I agree with this totally, I sell a good bit on eBay, and no occurrences when I have put in a reserve have I ever sold it for above the reserve price, but when I start it low, with no reserve price, it ends up for selling for 20-30%% above the reserve price if not more. All my auctions start at.99, the big thing I have found is just be ok with the fact that some of the items you sell might be less than what you want, but like when I was Selling my GI Joe comics, a collection of 4 went for 54 dollars, plus at.99 they only cost.20 to list, and then the Final value fee. Best way is to draw them in, and sell it for whatever it goes for, in the end if you list alot of items, people will be more likely to bid on other items to take advantage of shipping discounts thereby driving up demand for you other items. Now I agree shill bidding is a problem and does need to be addressed, never practiced it, and never would. Sold many a thing for.99 and just dealt with it.
I have been with the WebSphere Portal Support team since 2003, and the entire time our sales have done nothing but go up, as workplace runs on top of that as well as several other apps that ibm sells, it continues to grow. A large number of companies are using Portal it is doing anything but not selling. V6 just came out and actually has a nice interface. the one thing about portal is that it is not something you install and suddenly it does everything for you, it is just a framework to bring all your content together in one place(ui) so that your users are not clicking all over the place trying to find this or that app. and now with the JSR 168 standard it is only getting better as your portlets are more mobile from system to system, and will only inspire other systems to write portlets for things like oracle and seibel and the like there by enhancing portal's value. it is not a do all for anybody but it can create a great ui experience for your customers.
I bought the digital rebel when it first came out mainly for two reasons, it uses the lenses I had for my canon EOS Elan, and I have been very happy with canon. Now I have gotten some stellar shots with my DSLR, and it takes great pictures, but I still want that tiny digital point and shoot, so that I do not have to lug around my big camera, and its lenses when going places all the time. I have found that my DSLR is great for sports and the like, (the point and shoots do suffer the bad shutter lag) and other artistic pictures, but as the OP said I do miss some pictures because I do not always have it with me.
I know this is not the total point of your comment, but usually the mother and the twins suffer. Most times the mothers goes into keotosis, and then suffers a distended abomasum(then requiring surgery to fix) many times the twins are underweight are have to be pulled(there was significant talk in the Vet community about aborting twins if found as soon as possible(like during the pregnancy checking time frame) The way this is done at 30 days is you sometimes can feel if there are twins because the econmic repercusions were worse than having to abort and recycle the cow(and recycle I mean giving shots of uterine/ovarian hormones to cause them to come back into estrous.
Now in relation to your question on what the big deal is, Not to me, clone it, whatever, I personally wait for the days of the food replicator. Now I think as someone else pointed out we need a stock that keeps breading regulalry to keep problems from cropping up from only having one genetic line available.
While I was at IBM, the standard was, don't go look at porn. the trick sites happen, and they did not go looking for porn on desktops, but if you were stupid enough to look at it day after day in your open cube, don't be surprised when you get fired. THere the idea was you have a job to do and do it, I bean hey they were not worried about us taking breaks, as we had fooseball, pool, and airhocky, within 20-60 feet from each persons cube. and a plasma tv in the same room. Happy workers are productive workers, and forums by themselves are not inheritly bad.
This is why as a seller I always leave feedback when I receive payment. I figure their part as has been stated above is for them to pay me for the goods they received. My part is how well I package it, listed it, and how fast I get it to them. I mostly post in my feedback for buyers the date I shipped the item so that they have a good idea and others do on how long the item took to get there. On the flipside, I leave feedback for sellers as soon as I receive the item from the buyer, so that others can see how long it takes them to get me the item. I think one of the big problems is that when users leave feedback they do not really keep to reality. such as USER LIED blah blah blah, if it was not as you expected talk to the seller and see if they will resolve it, if not leave feedback to the case. I had one item returned and I still got positive feedback because I resolved the issue as I said I would.
The final thing I think is as was said above people try to sell some items like they are in a store, when basically these are items that would be relegated to the yard sale. people go to yard sale for bargains, not for top shelf prices. same with ebay most people go looking for bargains. I always start my items at.99 cents. and I barely have any problems selling my items. Those that do not sell are usually books or movies. everything else tends to sell well(now colelctables sell best, but computer and electronics sell well but not like it was brand new or from a store). personally I have not had a problem as a seller, I continue to sell items, and I charge exact shipping unlike other shippers that are 50-80% more than shipping cost. I think the big store sellers are the one complaining because they want to get top shelf pricess where now with the increased number of sellers they are not. My last listing of 250 items, I sold 220 of them. the rest were paperback books that do not sell well anyways. people got to realize what the user base will support as a price.
I never had this problem with the Scientific Atlanta boxes in the Raleigh Market, all the time I was watching video from one channel while it was recording others, never forced me to switch or anything. I did this often as I would then switch over from the beginning and bypass all the commercials. Also it was only 6.50 when I started in that area. The hi-def DVr box always operated great. now the On-Demand stuff they offered had lots of problems.
In the end what does a degree really mean for anyone? most companies are going to train you to do things they way they want you to do them. As my Advisor in college said. All college shows is that you can acomplish something in around 4 years. My degree is in agriculture and applied economics. I started of doing web design, that branched into network admin, and teaching computers all while i was still in college(this was with one of the local business). I then graduated, went to work for Big Blue, and then went onto program for them as well as doing product support. In reality it is not about what you learned in school it is about what is your apptitude to be a self starter, and apply yourself to what the situation requires. whether it is cobol, java or perl. most of my friends who were in CS were doing projects that really never realated to the real world or the need of businesses.
I thought the interface was pretty good with the one we have. no relability problems at all over the past two years. HD recording worked great and so did setting up recordings, FF and anything else we needed to do. I am just hopeing my new one Adelphia is as good

depends on the state.some its after the sentence, some it is after a set time when your probation is done
is that 10 or 25 man? going for hard mode?

Well they still had them on the 10th(as I just got one from TW on the 10th), and they can still get the regular HD boxes right?
