Want to find out if there are any time travelers? Just read the Fortune 500 list of most wealthy people. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Carlos Slim, etc.

Had I traveled back from the future, I would certainly bet all my money on the stock market or raise a technology company with future knowledge. Gathering resources are essential to any kind of mission they were sent to, or if they have no mission at all, who wouldn't like to live comfortably and rich.

It could be worse, though. I wouldn't like to work in an open space (no walls, no privacy whatsoever) or crammed side to side (as those who work in call centers).

Insightful comment, but maybe by first installing a 'private' (or 'commercial') P2P network these conglomerates feel entitled to push for stronger restrictions on public P2P networks since there should be no need anymore for them (since all legal free download will still be available, but controlled).

Their logic may go like this
    1) getting scr**ed by public P2P
    2) establish several private P2P
    3) go to congress with argument that there is no more need for public P2P
    4) public (uncontrolled) P2P becomes illegal

I think its a reasonable request to be able to put an ipod nano in your pocket, unprotected, and expect not to look like crap after a few days of use.

As reasonable as buying a brand new SUV, drive it through a dirt/mud/gravel road and expect it to be clean and scratch free (the way they are shown in TV commercials).

I also bought a 4GB black nano and after a week of intense use there is not one gross visible scratch. There are some very thin scratches though, but they are invisible even when holding the nano at mere inches from my eyes.

And talking about design... mine still works perfectly, as it was designed to. The way I see it, the nano was designed to be a slim portable music player with an extra bit of fashion component. If anyone buys it mainly because it's fashionable, he should be going for something else, like a diamond ring (they are harder to scratch) or other bling-bling.

  12. Simple solution on Astrologer Sues NASA Over Comet Probe · · Score: 1

There is a simple solution to this:

Just bring to court several unknown witness, make them write out their love life, economic life, luck, etc. for last week (while keeping all this info secret). And then ask this astrologer to predict all this info from her undisturbed charts of the previous week.
See if they match. If all of them are accurate she has proven her claim that her predictions worked beforehand, if not case dismissed.

And if she is a well known and successful astrologer, maybe she has previously published yearly predictions, check them out and see if they match up to reality.

    - Open the "Internet options" in IE. Two rows of tabs!
    - Desktop's (or any file's) "Preferences" (just a right click away).

And don't tell me the average user has never opened any of these options windows. Heck, I know a three year old kid that knew how to change screen resolutions!
