100% agreed, instead they could divert their energy into making changes in the linux kernel, that they really need, instead.
Yes, it is probably hard and takes a lot of time, but how long have they been working on fuschia already? And that is not taking into account the work it will take to add new features, security, bug fixes, etc. I don't know how many people are working on fuschia, but it can't be more then there are participating in linux's development.
please don't reming me of the horrors. i started my IT job in a helpdesk type of role, working for a global company all pc's came with an english windows, except in France, where they have some law in place that they have french windows instead. we would get calls from all over EU, and it was easy to guide people over the phone (no remote desktop take-over thingies back then) to resolve the problem. but when a somebody from France called, oh boy, then the fun started. a french windows where everything is translated into something, sometimes totaly illogical, the horror, the horror!
2018 is starting a trend in cpu holes, now the nvidia tegra has a build in backdoor (unintentinaly?) ready to exploit. a cpu is no longer just a cpu, nothing is no longer a simple thing, and it's starting to cause problems.
let hem battle it out on a deserted remote island, whoever's AI robot army is still standing in the end wins. ofcourse, then the question becomes, why not just run a computer simultation instead.
indeed, and it is not only detecting black people as gorilla's, it happened to me too (i'm white). when this app was first released on android (was it google glasses?) we tried it out at work on myself. sure enough, the result it returned was - monkey we all had a good laugh about it.
don't know about an iphone, but you can turn all that tracking stuff off. i only turn all those things on when i go jogging or need active gps guidance.
i see them all the time on billboards when driving, i hear them all the time coming out of my radio, i don't need any more ads while driving, i'm overloaded already!
i use kodi on raspi3 and chromecast for netflix & other streaming bits you might want. works really well, ofcourse it uses up 2 hdmi connections. I have heard that the best streaming box is Nvidia shield, you can run kodi & netflix in 4k (and stream gaming etc.).
was an AMD 40Mhz 486, i think it maybe already had a 120MB hard drive and 4MB ram, it kicked ass. i needed to take my zip drive to work to download all the updates, because i couldn't afford internet back then (it was really expensive back in those days).
this is so true. have you ever seen anybody use an iphone without a protective case? never ever seen it. but, ooooh, the design is so pretty and it is so thin.
yes, but you can't see any of that with your ridiculous, ugly, fat case (which you bought on the cheap?) around it
well, for the original EEE that's the case anyway, mine does and it is still usable for what it's intended use was. nobody will convince me the screen was ever big enough to do image/photo editing, even back in the day when it was released the screen was already small.
when you lease the vehicle, the battery is covered in the lease. if you buy it and your battery is underperforming because of age, #charges, etc. you have to buy a new one yourself, which is expensive.
Kubernetes is garbage.... It's nightmarish to install and to maintain. We tried it and gave up after a while....ended up going with a bunch of Red Hat commercial products.
I'm sure there is tons and tons of other stuff waiting to be solved/improved/implemented that you finally get some time to do because all the other things are automated.
theaters make a lot of money on the side by selling other overpriced stuff. go to theatre (maybe pay for parking), next to the ticket also buy something to eat/drink. i didn't look into moviepass, but i'm guessing those extra's are not included in the subscription.
you might see something like this in the future: drink is $5, or buy a ticket from us for $7 including a drink!
losing value because it is becoming mainstream, and i don't mean you can use it to pay everywhere. not only everybody knows about bitcoin now (xmas dinner was fun answering all those bitcoin questions, right?), but also governments and 'real' banks are joining the discussion. just last week it was announced that the government is now taking a 33% (!) tax on earnings made with bitcoin ( https://tweakers.net/nieuws/13... - article in dutch), chinese government is also starting to meddle on bitcoins and let us not forget about the banks who now want to cash in on it. too much regulation, too much involvement of higher powers, means bitcoin is losing its advantage and appeal.
yes you can, just yesterday there was somebody on g+ showing off photoshop cc running in wine.

linux does that, when upgrading my complete pc i just plugin my old HD and off i go.
choose life.

It has also come to light that Intel CEO sold $24M in stock when he was aware of the issue.

Just a list of what it means to be a sys admin.
If you don't already do these things, you suck at your job.

i guess much more prefer chasing applications all from different sites with sources of questionable trust instead.
