Compare that to a car, for which the expectation is that you turn the key and it starts up and goes where you want, without first needing to be rebooted and patched and the firmware reflashed and the networking reconfigured every time.
except it isn't. your car still needs maintenance and todays, modern cars almost always get a software update when you drop them off for a service. the thing is that you're not doing the work, but if you skip out on them, your car would stop running! some people prefer to do maintenance themselves, but i wonder how feasable this still is for present cars and certainly for the future with electric cars.
basically you could do the same with all your tech, there are several shops here that do 'winter maintenance', 'spring cleaning' etc. for you if you bring in your stuff.
now, to me, that is just stupied. all that stuff is automated in my home. there is only a few times a year that my attention is required.
We have a PS3 and a PS4 working side-by-side in our HT setup. The PS3 is rock-solid reliable,
that must not be the fat model then, which are known to just die, mostly from overheating. mine did, replaced it with the newer slim model and, indeed, that one is rock solid.
Interesting project, however now i wonder how many people will opt for using this module (which could be easily activated & used) instead of properly patching their systems.
The module only detects known vulnerabilities, if you are running a tight ship, you should be all patched and what use does this have then?
remove all traces of internet from your home, cancel your mobile internet subscriptions, shutdown your router and wifi access points! now enjoy your new addictive-free life and go watch some TV.
"Snaps" are the opposite of the Unix philosophy of dynmically linking against system libraries – they are basically statically linked binaries (except that the binary comes in pieces). Instead of the "open-source" philosophy of clean interfaces and interoperability, they embrace a philosophy of tailored interfaces and closed gardens.
Great comment, now i finally see the point of snaps. They only exist to facilitate closed source software. If you use open source software there is no need as you can easily make it to run on your system.
Besides most open source foundations, but i don't think that is what the question is about. I respect Red Hat the most. Other then that, I need to think really really hard (maybe Valve).
- Bushnell wearing a T-shirt that said ”I love to fuck.” - In a Playboy profile from 2012, Bushnell wistfully recalls the “wild environment” of the ‘70s Atari era. - The engineers at Atari codenamed their projects after attractive female employees; “Darlene,” the codename for the home version of Pong, was inspired by a woman who Bushnell described to Playboy as “stacked.” (was this common back in the day? the Amiga also has all its chips named after woman, maybe it's a form of flattery?) - They “held meetings in hot tubs, drank heavily, experimented with drugs... Sometimes Atari board meetings seemed more like fraternity parties than business meetings.”
Good thing they are not handing out the price to Bushnell, what an animal, what a disgrace to the human race. What the hell people, who got actually hurt in all of this?
Does anybody actually LOOK at those forms. If I ordered 5000 ampules would anyone notice?
as with 99.9% of paperwork & reports, nobody looks at them. it is there for a 'cover your ass' reason. in case anything would happen, people can reach to the paperwork/report and say - here is the proof.
this whole incident contains so many fails, it's hard to keep track;
* doing a test where the order contains the text 'this is not a drill' * horrible user interface that invites mistakes to send alert message (even though it appears now this was not to blame, it's just an accident waiting to happen, checkout the leaked screenshots) * only informing people through twitter it is a false alert * having picture taken that includes post-it with password to alert message system...
Next up is higher pay for in the music industry, spotify's own earnings decrease and decrease as more and more fees are added to pay for the music industries greed. Then spotify goes belly up, and music industry loses a gigantic boatload of easy money. Comes up with all kind of excuses and why it's not their fault.
you get open apps, without adware, build in trackers but have you looked at the size of them? much smaller then what you normally find on the play store, that is what you get when you leave out all of the bits nobody wants in the first place.
Have you seen the Netflix Original productions? Most of them are awesome and of high quality. Not only limited to series, but their movies are also pretty good. I don't think i'll be missing disney soon...
it's all about power, they have become too big and thus gained too much power. they could use if for good or evil, most of the time a bit of both, but we remember the evil things longer.
at 2, maybe 3x the price of a tesla i would expect nothing else. the model 3 is a modern electric car almost within reach for most people, those silly ferrari vehicles are not. if you're lucky you can afford an officiel poster. on the other hand, porsche says it will deliver its electric car from €55k, that is a high, but competitive price compared to tesla 3 & 5.
bring back your empty packages, replace with new, filled ones on the shelf. will the AI decide - oh, they put it back, no charge? prepare to find stores full of empty packages!
and what about those 2 people still working there? checking an id and saying hello to people? those are the 2 things they couldn't figure out how to replace?
aaaah, the bad old days. last month i was at an amiga club meeting, and at one point somebody took his digital camera and started viewing his photo's on his amiga. i actually had forgotten all about how slow simple things like that were back in the day.
how usable will this turn out the be?
the nvidia tegra soc has horrible linux kernel support.
it even made Linus flip the finger at nvidia.

It means a lot of people are interested in playing the old WoW, give them what they want.
Then again, you don't really need even more cash, do you.
canada?
it isn't even a real country anyway.

What about 'the martian'?

Read the TFA (the one about 'a day of outcry' - https://www.theverge.com/2018/... ).
What really happened;
- Bushnell wearing a T-shirt that said ”I love to fuck.”
- In a Playboy profile from 2012, Bushnell wistfully recalls the “wild environment” of the ‘70s Atari era.
- The engineers at Atari codenamed their projects after attractive female employees; “Darlene,” the codename for the home version of Pong, was inspired by a woman who Bushnell described to Playboy as “stacked.” (was this common back in the day? the Amiga also has all its chips named after woman, maybe it's a form of flattery?)

And how are we to confirm this is really ALL the data? or just a subset of it that they want to share or use under false transperacy claims?
You see, we Belgians are not only good in making beer, waffles, fries, ....
subaru as well.

these police stories we get from the US all the time are plain crazy.
your policy force has an image problem that reaches far beyond the US alone.
