So, you are saying that the issues like gay weddings, living wills, abortion, and the teaching of evolution simply are not worthy of debate?

Had you read the parent post, you would understand that these issues are not only debated on longer than is necessary, but that they are very polarized, very emotional, and in many cases, very religious. It is because of this that other issues, and as the parent suggest, more important or severe issues about the future of your country, are brushed aside as unimportant, irrelevant, or worse, no one cares.

our current society is very stable

Objection: our current society (ie. America's society) is not very stable for all the above reasons and more. I will not mention them as you are quite capable of making your own judgement, for which this stable society you speak of is not able to do.

Looks like this is the excuse the industry has been wanting in order to justify selling shoddy parts. Of course, doesn't this happen already? I may be cynical, but doesn't any consumer expect their product to be free of defects (or at least what they deem accepetable).

Perhaps, unlike the many sequals that have spewed from Hollywood this year and for many years to come, the above games listed above may actually be worth the time.

Let's not also forget that it may take 2-4 hours to watch a movie and then judge it. For a game, 10+ hours is usually the minimal. This of course excludes everything but linear shooters, or 'action-packed'/'fast moving' games (ex. Max Payne 2)

While this bodes good news for those with AGP only systems, does anyone remember when the launch of the 6600 GT PCIe was? A few months ago. Yet, even today, is it available in quantites so that no one has to worry about not getting one? No.

Essentially, all 'launches', as many people call them, are more or less paper launches, with the actual release of the hardware a few months later. This may be good from the company's perspective, but for the regular consumer, what difference does it make that there was a paper launch and when the product is actually available?

Even with some stores in my local area, and also the big chains as well, I still can't get a 6800 or a X800 Pro, and even in the place that do, they are way too expensive for the ordinary person.

I have also noticed that time difference between product launches and paper launches are getting longer and longer.

That would be a good idea for them to do, but on the user side, the best solution in my opinion would be to just develop the ability to skim through the short descriptions, while identifying what looks like spam, and what is real. Do this fast enough, and you could go through 10 result maybe every 5 seconds. Not terribly efficient, nor does it solve the problem that google hasn't done anything yet, but a solution is need now. Of course, people who currently do this probably are also able to skim through article and pick up key points.

Even with the outbreak of security flaws and the whatnot from IE, the organizations that already are too busy worrying about other things won't be switching, unless security is the number one priority.

Why would a library switch? Where I am, the inertia is quite obvious because you can see how old the system is. Sure there are upgrades here and there, but seeing brand new equipment and software side by side makes people wonder.

The switches will probably occur if the organization aren't too caught up in other things, and have the resources to change. Of course, being fed up with IE is also another motivation to switch.
