    A defensible network is one that can be watched, is configured to limit possible intruder actions, can be kept up to date, and runs only the minimum necessary services.

    This seems like common sense. Shouldn't all network admins be doing this anyway?

    Based on an anonymous tip, PC Magazine looked into the WMI and the Windows Security Center's use of it, and found that it may not only be a security hole, but a crater.

    Maybe MS could get NASA to send a few rovers in there to see what they can find out.

    I blame them only in so much as the REASON HP couldn't get it to work was because Windows is a closed, proprietary OS. You would think that MS would WANT stuff like this to work on Windows with their "Trustworthy Computing" initiative.

    A great example, the OS/2 debacle is a classic study in how not to name or position a product.

    Yes, it's a great example of why you should be very cautious when working with Microsoft.

    I don't see it. I know lots of brave liberals and compassionate conservatives. This reminds me of that trick where you watch "The Wizard of Oz" while listening to the "Dark Side of the Moon", I can almost see it and understand it, but it would help if I was tripping.
