    You could try any of Games workshops range. While expensive to start you can pick one of the smaller games and have just as much funmuch cheaper.

    Necromunda is cyber punk and you control (and level up) a gang.
    Bloodbowl is Rugby only the aim is to hurt the other team as you play.. it's quite fun and again you gain levels on players and such.
    Battlefield gothic is a space ship based game, it's got alot of races but will cost more then the two above.
    Modernheim is a game set in a destroyed city where you control a warband and try and become rich and famous...

    All would take a bit of work (painting models) but they are fun tabletop games you might want to try out.

    Games arn't linked to violence
    Kids are fucked up, TV would of done the same
    Parents today need to smack their kids and sit round a table and eat meals together
    Kids need role models

    People need to look at this differently. To us it's bad design and flashy, to the average idiot it's eye candy and "more cool things!"

    If they go "look what all these buttons can do!" then people will go out and use it (I'm talking AOL users here).

    I should point out that I'm not insulting the other searchs before someone says it. All I'm saying is google did it best and didn't fuck us over with pop ups, larger dicks and the other crap we don't want.

    Google took the technology and advanced it, then they worked out what we wanted and added it. Now they have our support they don't suddenly pull shit on us. This is why google is "the internet" as I said. It's exactly what the internet should be, not what marketers want it to be.

    It's the same damn thing. What's the difference between.

    "They could nuke us in 15 minutes!" and "They can nuke is in 2 minutes!". It's all bullshit lies rewritten to sound scary and either way the government is to blame. but this is all swept under the carpet now because so many "investigations" have "proven" the Government is "innocent" and there was WMDs.

    Just forget that in the last few months they've said there are no WMDs and changed their stories to "we got Sadam out!".

    It's still fucking retarded and being buried in documents.

    When you compare Slashdot to many geeks social lives it's alot less inanimate then you might think. We interact with hundredsd if not thousands of other people every week. On TV you just watch others interact.

    It's like the community in "the real world", it's not really alive as a whole, but it's still there and evolving and developing.. and you get less dupes in the real world.

    Last time the government got involved with the BBC the director general was fired for saying "The war was illegal, there are no WMDs" and it seems we've all forgotten that doctor who killed himself over the war... funny isn't it. No one remembers this sort of thing..

    Thanks, I'm on dial up but I've got the Ubuntu CDs here and spenta coupleof hours on Linux. It's a shame my modem isn't supported or I'd use Linux full time.. I'm just trying to find out if Dawn of war runs well in Wine right now then going to sort out broadband and get things moving.

    I'm new to Linux (only just tried Ubuntu and had a bad exprience)... can anyone explain what use the kernel is to the average user? I thought it was just used for a base of distros... It doesn't make sense to be able to upgrade an OS mid... use..?

    I think the British mentality (English mostly) is "fair play and whoever wins, wins". We're anarchists at heart but too lazy to do anything. So we all "accept" things or all our rebel.

    The monarchy doesn't have any power, it's at best a freak show and no one really takes any notice. They are just there to get tourists here now, nothing important.

    Knighthood is a joke, it's given mostly to celebrities and it's totally invalid.

    Lords - meh, they are just there, can't do nothing.

    Listen to "god save the queen" by the sex pistols. It somes it up nicely.

    In short, we just don't care. Thats how things are we can't change them so why would we care to try?

    and yes he did report the incident, the polices said "Well we can't do much since you didn't see them very well". It's hard to see someone when you've got 3-4 guys stamping on your head.

    These are the same people who are attacking research labs and farms raising animals for science. The only difference is this kids pets ment something to him, a load of battery hens can be replaced.

    This has nothing to do with "being cruel" or "not breaking the law" this is Blair's asshole government backed up by a load of townies, as long as they can keep London happy (Tossers!), they don't care much for whats outside it.

    Many people have pointed out, if laws get so ridiclous you just can't be arsed to respect them and live within them, the whole system collapses. How much longer untill we get sick of Blair's government and all these bullshit schemes to "help" people while the NHS gets shafted.

    Tell me, does it REALLY matter if a few people chase a fox for a weekend while we're in the middle of 2 wars (Afganistan and Iraq), possiblely looking at another and the only thing we hear about the NHS is "Dirty, you'll get MRSA, no nurses, no doctors, go private if you want"?

    I was in hospital last month and I think I'd rather have that hellhole sorted then I would waste time and money on a sport which doesn't hurt anyone.

    Theres alot of things we could say is disliked by the masses. That isn't a reason to ban it. Most people hate guys on mobile phones on buses.. don't see a ban there.

    Hunting was very effective at what it did (kill the weak foxs to ensure the stronger fox population lived on and kept pets at bay). You can go "ooh but foxs are cute", well we (my family) used to run a shoot for various game birds. Went over the farm once to find a pen ripped open by foxs with 50 (yes 50) birds all ripped apart and not even eaten, just for the fun of it.

    Now if foxs do that why can't dogs do that? Foxs are pests and just because you townies don't see it doesn't mean it's not true. When one gets in your chickens you tend to not like the things, when several do you tend to hate them.

    Now on noe hunting EVER said "lets kill all the foxs", infact the opposit is true, they want to keep the fox population healthy and well, but limit it so it doesn't destroy the rest of the countryside.

    and as for the vote thing, exactly. This country is a mess and hence why I want to move to the moon.

    goto any P2P network and type @hotmail.com, @Gmail.com or @yahoo.com and see what documents turn up.. I'm willing to put money on them all being e-mails saved on idiots PCs which will contain everything from stuff to sell to spammers (if your so inclined), to sexual stuff and passwords/creditcard info.

    Nothing really new here..
