Currently, I use a DB2 bowtie antenna since rabbit ears don't work back in end of 2005. Even with a bowtie (30 miles), sometimes I get dropouts and weak signal strengths like on KABC7's digital 53 (channel 7 for analog), KNBC4's digital 36 (horrible since Super Bowl day almost two weeks ago), etc. I am only under 20 miles to most of these stations (NW direction at 323-324 degrees heading on a compass).
Two weeks, KABC did its digital test on 7 instead of 53 and shutting down its analog channel 7 for 15 minutes after 2:00 AM PST. I woke up for this (yep, I am that crazy) and my two HDTV tuner PCI cards could NOT pick up digital channel 7 at all. with the bowtie antenna. I was told rabbit ears would work. I recalled rabbit ears were too weak for all TV stations when I tried in end of 2005.:(
I will have to buy a new antenna (that supports both UHF and VHF) or add to the bowtie on 6/12/2009 (can't test now since there are no digital channels like 7 [lowest from what I saw for the changeover].:(
Especially when one has to shutdown, reboot, etc. Annoying. If we want to go back to Linux, then we have to do it again! Yes, we can get another computer but still... I hate rebooting.:)
Yeah! Me too. I wished I kept my saved levels. I lost them, but then I also don't have a disk drive to port to emulators.:( I never really shared my levels. I didn't have BBS and Internet back then.
I'm like you. I don't like LCD monitors either. I was unable to find any NEW CRTs from local retail stores.:( I wanted to see them in person too so I can see the colors, features, etc.
And I need to get a new antenna since KABC did its test this morning after 2 AM PST for 15 minutes. I could not get KABC's digital 7 with two rescan attempts. I was told my DB2 bowtie antenna cannot do low channels at all.:(
Where do you live that you don't know people with OTA? I know plenty of people who use OTA in and outside of L.A. area. They're all under 30 miles from most of the transmitters on Mt. Wilson.
Only if you have all of them available. In my area with cable modem service, it is only dial-up (3 KB/sec average, baby!!) no DSL, no FIOS, ISDN, IDSL (144Kb/sec both ways), and satellite.:(

He's a /.er. He doesn't have a woman like the rest of us. [grin]
For me, I gave up with them since they all suck. Broken promises, corruptions, etc. :(
Hmm, there should be a Prime95 bootable media so people don't have to worry about trashing their datas. :)
Is there a dedicated bootable media that will stress test the system since memtest86 is near useless?
Better than flipping off. Just unplug it!

I remember trying to set up text mode's Disk Druid to partition my HDD and I got stuck with it. I didn't know what to do for a long time. :D

Probably many more. Imagine Verizon did this with FIOS. :(

http://www.rabbitears.info/dtr.php and http://www.rabbitears.info/termlist.php for analog termination and digital switch.

I prefer XLS file and possible terminate date list.
I will wait. $56.95 for cable is expensive enough. :P
How much do T1s cost these days? Isn't it still in the hundreds?

To watch Hawaii Five-O reruns. DUH! :P
JT is a great speaker too. I have seen him in person a few times already. I was sad him to see him resigning this year. :(
Symantic? :P

Um, this year's SuperBowl Sunday is on 2/1/2009, not January.
Sounds like my life. Wait, it is me. :P [grin]
