A link about antbase.org. CNN, Wired News, and Netscape's News mentioned about this Web site yesterday.
Brief description from CNN article: "Whether you're looking for fire ants, carpenter ants or some tetramorium flavithorax, the first complete database of the world's 11,000 known ant species can help you out. Scientists say antbase.org is a unique resource for scholars, ecologists or anyone interested in myrmecology -- the scientific study of ants."
One of the ant experts said something faimilar with his interesting comment on my message board recently:
"Not to interject too much philosophy......but the term "species" has a lot of ambiguity to it. In some cases there are very clear differences between groups of ants. In these cases, most people would feel comfortable calling different groups "species". However, there are plenty of other groups that continuously grade into one another, especially across geographic space. For example, a group of ants in California may be black along the coast but gradually turns yellowish as we move inland and into the interior of the continent. In some cases it is almost arbitrary whether or not to divide continuous variation into different species or not. There are other instances where distinct groups of ants hybridize with each other, introducing more ambiguity into what we call "species". As ant taxonomy advances, it is also clear that some groups were named twice, and others named once but actually pertain to several distinct groups. There are still many messes that need to be worked out. As a consequence, I would not attach too much significance to the exact number of species. There is as much human whim in that number as there is real biology." --Myrmecos1 -- Source/Link
11006 ant species as of 2/28/2002, & counting.

Brief summary: "This is the latest figure reported at the American Museum of Natural History Social Insects Website ("AntBase"), up by almost 500 since the last update. It has been estimated that another 20,000 remain to be described and named." --Dr. Ant

I tried Konqueror (whatever from KDE v2.2.1, Opera 6, Mozilla (v0.98)/Galeon, and Netscape Communicator v4.79 (it works in Windows, but not Linux!) on FlipDog.com, but they all failed.
Basically, I cannot get a list of cities in after selecting a state in the U.S. map. I hate going to Windows just to use this awesome job site.
I have MPlayer, Xine, and Oogle. I can play DivX4, MPEG, etc. What else am I missing that Media Player v6.4 can handle? Is it only WMV and WMA? If so, then I thought it was only supported in 7.x+?
Yes, we should have equal opportunities to work like anyone else. Even during dotcom days (I miss them), it took me over seven months to get my first full-time employment in 1998. I am still considered an entry level because I only have 2.25 years/27 months of full-time professional experiences (I am not counting part-time jobs, volunteer work, etc.).
Right now, I have been unemployed for over ten months.:(
This situation is harder for disabled people...

For one thing, I have multiple physical disabilities and IT is my field. What frustrates me is that others and I can't find a job because employers are afraid to hire us. They think we can't handle the job because of our physical abilities. I read that about 80% of U.S. citizens with disabilities are unemployed (from a few years ago and I am sure it is worse now). Yes, there are laws but we're are still being discriminated with almost every employers.
it does have a hidden team deathmatch feature. You can read the details on Blue's News.:)
I wished the company released a team play option because Return to Castle Wolfenstein (RTCW) looked like a winner with its team based option. I wasn't expecting it to be that good. I couldn't conclude if RTCW is a winner since I haven't tried MoH:AA's single player and teamplay multiplayer yet.
I was born with Nager's syndrome and have multiple physical disabilities. I am currently unemployed (laid off from a dotcom company about eight months ago). I noticed a lot of employers are afraid of people with disabilities like me. This is true when I go for job interviews (already had about ten of them and applied over 650 jobs within eight months).
My field is in the Information Technology (IT) area and I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. My strongest areas are in Web Development/Design and Software Quality Assurance (SQA).
The thing I have is that I don't need heavy accomodations. I don't need special computers, tools, access, etc. The only thing I need is people's patience to understand that I am like people without disabilities. I tell them that I have speech impairment (can't talk clearly), but this shouldn't stop them from hiring me because I can type, e-mail, ICQ, AIM, write my sayings on papers, etc. I can still handle any IT jobs like programming, testing, etc.
When I was working for the last company, everyone was impressed with my skills and knowledge. I always worked hard and done a lot overtime. I was serious about my job.
With the downturn of the economy, it makes my job search situation even more difficult and frustrating. Having disabilities make my chances very slim.
I hope this link works for everyone. If not, then just do a search for "David X. Cohen here Futurama" (without quotation marks) on http://groups.google.com.:)
This Tour of Tasmania: Tasmania Tiger Web page shows the last photograph of this tiger in captivity and a video clip. Both picture and video clip are black and white though. The wide mouth shot amazes me.:)
Large Video Resolution! Note: Doesn't seem to work in Netscape Communicator v4.79. :(
Thanks to Epidemic from #starwars IRC room!

I personally dislike v7.x and v8.x. I still like 6.4 as a simple player. I avoid v7.x and v8.x as much as I can.

I remember using this program and making my own pinballs on Apple II computers. I remember it lets you make a binary file to give to others. :)
Registration for beta starts in about three hours (PST). Dang it (for ActiveX part)!
Do you include those four years as professional, years? I have had internship and part-time work.
I know Asian restaurants (e.g., Chinese, Korean, etc.) are opened on Christmas but I think with limited hours (close earlier).
