I am not sure who put those grand ideas in your head about what the "real" world was going to be like, but I'll bet it was your higher education.
They pumped your ego up and made you think the working world would roll out a big leather chair and slide you into your own office and shower you with tons of cash.
Then you discovered it doesn't work that way.
I guess the only thing to say is welcome to the "real" world.
What do I care about DNA, after all? A sentient robot I might build is as much my offspring as a human child I might father.
Do you have any biological offsping? I am not sure I agree with this statement, the parallel is a little thin.
Actually that is why it appeared that so many people voted for John Kerry, I mean cmon, I know that alot of people said they were going to vote for, but when push came shove, no one in their right mind voted for him. (Let the flames begin!!!!!)
Apple pioneered Command
Apple hardly pioneered the use of these keys. Apple may have applied the functions you mentioned to these sequences, but they were put to use in other OS's long before Apple came along, for the same reason you mention, ease of typing.
Don't forget the "welcome our new solar flare overloads." posts....A phrase I have been granted a patent for by the way.
You will all be hearing from my attorney.
All software should be FREE!
How about leaving that decision to the developer?
The decision of how to license should be up to the person/people who developed it. If you want to release via GPL go ahead, if you want to release under some other terms go ahead.
Freedom of choice.
Let's remember if this is a state run program it will cost 10 times more and take 10 times longer than projected. This will be a boondoggle.
Remember this is coming from the same people that brought you the Big Leak...
I thought that was the way slashdot was supposed to work? Agree with the masses and get karma through the roof. Disagree, however, and account sleeps with the fishes.
Unfortunately many of the people I have encountered are certified but not qualified. There are too many "boot" camps that cram too much into 5 days and then allow all the students to "collaborate" on the tests.
some have derided this as a tinfoil hat for passports
What is wrong with the trusty tin foil hat? I never leave the mothership without mine.
Wow, a post on /. that is not slanted to the left....Now some of you left wingers can see how it feels.
Yes, MTI too.
and patent my remaining 4/5 before someone else does.
You are making a very large assumption. Who says the intellectual elitists are speaking the truth?
Must not say it.....Must try to not say it....
Ahhhhhhhhhh
Al Gore!
Sorry I couldn't help it.

I couldn't agree more, it reminds me of all the "Global Warming" studies that I see flying around.(On both sides.)
Actually that is why it appeared that so many people voted for John Kerry, I mean cmon, I know that alot of people said they were going to vote for, but when push came shove, no one in their right mind voted for him.

Sort of the opposite of most /.er's.
I hope they are listening, but I doubt they care.

...and this marketing joke justs proves.
How does this left wing "kook" rant get modded "Insightful"? Only here on /.
..downhill with a left-handed slant. :-(
Just because you "just did it last week" doesn't mean there aren't alternative ways of doing it.

I agree, that's priseless, just priseless.
Has there been any strange electrical storm activlity in the area? Hmm
