    Can we say the following: -

    That folks on food stamps somehow easily find work at Amazon instead of the narrative that the [little] income at Amazon, forces them to employ food stamps?

    That Amazon [probably] goes out of their way to employ those who would otherwise be unemployable; these coincidentally happening to be on food stamps?

    That those on food stamps get some benefit working at Amazon in terms of other perks they may be getting?

    Look, I have heard of the argument that in some jurisdictions, not earning enough qualifies one to get benefits that those who make more may not necessarily qualify for.

    In all the above, I stand to be corrected.

    Look. I know it's the evil Russians and all, but do you suppose the Pentagon is the right outfit to cast the first stone?

    No I do not! it's really saddening that a public official can lie while on the podium, saying OPCW officials were denied access to the alleged chemical bombing site even before they landed in the country. It's really sad.

    Hours later, they did indeed land and were welcomed by authorities. The media only finds time to regurgitate government propaganda, sadly.

    In my [small] circle of friends, it appears many have *gained* from being affiliated with Facebook.

    Can someone really tell us what the disadvantages of Facebook are?

    Disclaimer: I do not have a Facebook account because no body has been able to convince me to get one.

    Just imagine: -

    You see an interesting video but when you click the link, you're "welcomed" by an uninvited ad! What I do in this case is to mute the sound, an occasionally close my eyes for a few moments. It works most of the time.

    Trouble is, even when you forward the video, you'll be confronted with an ad!

    I hate ads but will also not pay up in order to avoid them. I know I am not alone.

    I am tired of having to "worry" about FaceBook and how it handles data. Can someone here tell me how to ascertain whether an account and associated data no longer exist?

    FB is of no use in this regard as they keep bugging fellas who "delete or deactivate" their accounts.

    Selling things to a criminal is not, itself, a crime. Just because encryption can be used in concert with a criminal act does not make encryption a criminal act.

    Dude, selling stuff to criminals so that this stuff, once used as intended, they commit a criminal act, is in itself criminal I guess. If you sell a knife to a criminal so that this criminal can stab someone, you then become part of the problem that must be stopped

    I agree with you BTW. Let's not forget that America's CIA has been doing the same thing via different channels for decades. They are perhaps still doing this to this day.

    Where's the media outrage? There is an article here affirming trolling by the USA.

    USA complains because they can now be beaten [on the cheap] at their own game.

    How about engaging those Russians to hit it out of the sky with one of their S-400/500 missile systems.

    With missiles that can fly at Mach 15 and a range of over 400Km, Russians should be able to help.

    It saddens me that Android, with its very advanced features, still doesn't have a straight forward way of letting users schedule an alarm for a future date as an inbuilt capability by default. This is a killer feature for me. I know I am not alone.

    I don't think you are following along with this subject (though mysteriously you are currently rated "Score:4 Insightful").

    It sounds like you think that there is a movement afoot to pass laws to ban people from repairing their own property. That is the opposite of what is happening here. Businesses are trying to take away the ability to repair products through purchase contracts, designing products that can only be repaired by the manufacturer (there are various ways of doing this), and restricting access to spare parts. People are trying to get legislation passed to preserve the ability to repair products, which has up to now been assumed to exist.

    The whole point is that corporations are trying to take away the ability of letting consumers decide.

    Look dude, this is Slashdot. I see your point, and you're right. The problem is that those with mod points hardly read the summary to understand the gist of the subject. They usually simply want to vent or get their mod points used up fast.

    Here's what I mean: -

    They *force* ads which isn't necessarily bad. What I loathe are the their numbers. Ads are jus to too many.

    YouTube's computer interface is just unfriendly. Why do I have to lose visual of playing video simply because I have chosen to read through comments or browse through related video?

    Apparently, these small user interface tweaks aren't obvious to my learned and capable friends at YouTube. Sad!
