Which is why you should create 2 firefox profiles. One that uses the proxy and one that doesn't. Or if you can't do that with this, then use mozilla for regular browsing, and the google accelerated firefox for searching all your naughty stuff.
I work for a navy subcontractor. Virtually every single system on a submarine runs linux now. HP-Unix was the standard, and most systems have transitioned to linux. At least in the under water sector.
However, when you are dealing with technology, old speeches hold less credence on the business practices of today. Time is much harsher to ideas on technology than it is to social issues.
Would you assume that a company had no internet strategy, and that 640k Ram should always be enough, based on some 1984 speeches? No, because they are outdated, and many things have changed. Just as things have changed alot for google since 2001.
Feel free to continue blowing comments out of proportion while i'm away.
I've had bad luck in the past with pre-standard equipment, but this one sounds pretty good. It seems to only be missing one of the features of the n standard. I thought N had essentially "wireless switching", in that the wireless bandwidth was not divided when multiple connections were established. If everything else lives up to their hype, this could be a good stop gap solution until the standard equipment comes out 3rd quater this year.
Label it a troll if you like, but I'm just tired of reading the same stuff over and over again here. I think there's been an article every time another publication picks up on this story. Is this necessary? I don't think so.
Clearly Zanek [dancclark.com] has completely misplaced his tinfoil hat!!! The website he linked to has his social security number listed on it. I propose that he gets his 6 digit slashdot taken away, and awarded a new 7 digit id when we break the million nerd mark.
And I know there is NO WAY they could link that loyalty card up with you the first time you swipe Mr. Credit Card. Surely their technology hasn't evolved that far.....
You would be stuck with the same glibc that the original release came with. The easiest way to update glibc is to do a new install with the new version, otherwise, you have to recompile ALL your programs with the newest version.
If I understand it right, this is how Gentoo does it...but not really sure, I've never used it.
I only have linux nerd badges for compiling my own kernel, and not using windows. Gentoo may be next.
I wish those days were long gone. And those "we are the internet" ads do piss me off. However, my fiance's father IS one of those people. He comes to our house and asks how to "log on". He can't fathom that just opening the web browser gives him access to the internet. Where is AOL? Prodigy? (Yes, he was a die hard prodigian) How are you already logged on?
Is he an exception to the rule, or indicative of the masses?
Not sure if it's going to be a full game or not, but this tech-demo looks awesome.

nah, nothing that high brow. It's a bit against the rules, but I'll make an exception and point you to the cultural reference.

I could drive my Pious around for a week on that kind of smugness.
I think you meant, moo point, it's like a cow's opinion.
It just doesn't matter.
Could they be held in contempt for not playing the game of RPS? They were ordered by the judge right?
Looks like they aren't the only ones partying hard enough to have a memory lapse.
25 year old Records continue to play on 34 year old record players,
Old VCR tapes play in old vcr's,
and Old cars even run on brand new gas....
Such startling developments all in one day.

The last movie wasn't so great either. But lord knows i showed up. Wouldn't want my geek license to expire on me.

Say it with me. You must be...
All jokes aside? You must be new here.
I guess all of their missions and exploration will be very close to the surface. Unless there is some underwater solar energy source I'm unaware of.
It's not robbery, since people were buying it. Convicted of overcharging millions of people is more appropriate.

Let's get a +5 Redundant on this article, stat.
Except when you only have $.03 and REALLY need some starburst half off.

This is on the heels of them pilfering googles' search results. Some more of their shystie practices see the light of day.
