I'm sorry, but as a mechanic I know that brakes will not just "stop working" from a cars computer failure, they are phisically connected to the pedal through a pump (master cylinder) and brake fluid going to the calipers, the only thing that wil quit working is the ABS.

Although the way some people drive they wouldn't know what to do should they have to stop fast without ABS, the fact the people rely on things like this and not knowing what to do without them is more scary then them not working at all.

Same with the steering, the car will not all of a sudden not be able to turn, under the same principal as the brakes. You have a physical connection to the front tires with the steering wheel, if the engine quits you will loose power steering so it will be harder to turn (although not much as long as the car is moving) and that's it.

Almost all of the unsecured networks were using the default "linksys" configuration right out of the box. This means that anyone can connect to their network with full administrative control by logging in to 192.168.1.1 with no username and the password "admin" as published in the Linksys manuals.

Unprotected routers are fun, especially the ones where people are too dumb to change the default password. I remember this one router me and my friend updated this persons firmware for them :-P
enabling a WEP key isn't that hard, and for joe sixpack will be plenty secure because unless they are working on some super secret thing nobody is going to spend the time to crack it.

And they're leaving their router open to full administrative control by anyone on the street; someone could even turn on the remote management and no longer have to be physically near the node.

I did that once to a neighbors router just for kicks, I didn't chage anything (why bother) but it was fairly amusing for a few days before I told him how to set a WEP key

Regardless, if they distribute movies over the internet, nice as it would be, they will still charge too much

Although if movies were released online then they are not limited by filesize, video quality or media type. Better video format released? Just download, wait no BUY a new codec. They could have different qualities for different prices depending on your preference too. 5.1 surround $1.00 more, high res version $3.00 more, it would be like buying a car, lol :-P

plus they could profit more just because of the fact that all they pay for is bandwidth and the servers the movies are on, no packaging, distributing, shipping, displays, etc.
