Yes, but you have the option to get married. If you don't want to pay those taxes, go to the county courthouse and get married. Problem solved. Homosexual couples don't have that option in most states.
I realize some heterosexual couples are together for years or even their whole lives without getting married, but again this is by choice. So just because a couple does not get married (by choice, or because they are not allowed to by law), they are ineligible for hundreds of legal, economic, and social benefits.
I'm a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW). In the past, IVAW has conducted "Operation First Casualty" in a few major cities across the US. In war, the first casualty is the truth. Essentially this was street theater. These Iraq Veterans conducted a mock unmounted patrol through Manhattan, downtown Chicago and other pedestrian heavy areas to give Americans a taste of how things really are in Iraq. Here is a great video of OFC in Manhattan.
I think this group should skip trying to teach them science, it's a lost cause, and instead provide instruction on birth control and distribute free condoms. Only you can help control the Juggalo population!
That won't help. It's not genetic and it's not a learned behavior. You're either born liking ICP or you're born disliking ICP. Frankly I think you should show a little more tolerance, they can't help it. I'm sure there are some of them that are proud to like ICP, but there are probably some that are ashamed to like ICP - maybe their parents disowned them when they came out.
You leave him alone, he's old skool and everybody should know it. He is one of the few around here who have any idea how an original NES gamepad is laid out. Now get off his lawn!
Primitive societies did. Our society is pretty poor at it. Sure, many of us here who have kids see the value in exposing our children to engineering and other similar concepts, but the average American parent, especially in the last twenty years or so, doesn't.
I went to Iraq twice, '06-'07 during the surge and most of '08. I have plenty of friends who have been to or are currently in Afghanistan. I would love to see these two countries get their act together and be successful. It's been done in the past by other countries/cultures. BUT the way to make it happen is not by pointing our guns at them.
Unfortunately this find will only be of minimal help to the average Afghani. The only ones who will really profit are western corps and a few corrupt Afghani officials (read: Taliban). Furthermore, if Afghanistan allows western corporations to simply buy contracts to extract the minerals, even the corrupt Afghani officials will hardly see anything. If Afghanistan really wants to turn this into a long term benefit, they need to develop the ability to process these materials. The article mentioned lithium. Take the lithium and instead of selling it as lithium, turn them into lithium batteries, then sell them. Greater profit margin for the Afghani people and more jobs for them.
Of course none of that really matters. Opium will always be more profitable for them especially when it's being protected by the CIA and pharm corps.
OK, stop there. You know damn well they're not called the "teabaggers". What is up with people calling them that? Are they trying to be funny? trying to sound smart? Grow the fuck up.
Firing upon medical personnel is not legal, regardless of who they're treating. In fact, it is our duty to care for all who are injured, regardless if they are friendly, enemy, civilian, etc.
Oh I forgot about the First Amendment being repealed and the new laws forbidding freedom of speech... oh wait
While the 1st Amendment should (operative word) protect Anonymous Blogger from lawsuit, it may not protect him from company/department policy.
For example my employer has a policy stating something to the effect of:
You can't say anything that could damage or discredit [insert company name here]. Failure to comply is grounds for reprimand, termination, etc..
I'm sure many other organizations have a similar policy which allows for the termination of whistle blowers, especially if their claim doesn't hold it's weight.
I know quite a few people who have recently migrated from BitTorrent to Usenet for their piracy needs. It is an uncapped bandwidth, just as good selection, you don't need to share, all for usually $10-15 per month. So far this seems to be farily safe from the MPAA, although there is no guarantee how long that will last.

Go ahead. If you think that will get rid of your American spam, do it. Just because some people want to block Chinese IP addresses, does not make them racist. If I get a lot of spam originating from China, and I don't visit any Chinese websites. Why wouldn't I block them?
I am a beta tester of eXeem, and it works out great. It is simple to publish a torrent, which will undoubtedly cause more people to publish more torrents. Currently the only thing I dislike about it is that there is a slightly small selection of torrents due only 5,000 users being on. They recently gave everybody an extra serial number to use for eXeem and encouraged all users to invite one more person.
On a side note, unlike suprnova, eXeem allows pr0nz.

Or maybe it's just a 4 dimensional being 'painting' on a 3 dimensional 'surface'.
Wrap your head around that one.
Let me take a few hits of acid and I'll try.

So.. what happened? Does your sig offer insight into that?
I wish I could mod you to +6. Excellent.

Exactly his point. The teabaggers

I love the sidebar. It gives me easy access to the Wonder Wheel, which is what I prefer to use for all of my serious searching.

Google still doesn't have soothing pictures to prevent you from getting frustrated by THOSE LINKS!!

Because all you have really ensured is that the blog will get a decent amount of free publicity.

That's an IP violation!
Didn't we just see this? http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/1 2/15/1953227&tid=95&tid=156&tid=1
Perhaps the fact that the movie will be consistant with the other versions will be the inconsistancy.
Interestingly enough, today is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.
Why do all of the stupid memes involve Asia? Does the /. crowd have something against Asia?
