Word was that the movie was going to be at my favorite theater either this or next week. I guess I was misinformed, though because I don't even see notice of "online release".
I think that it is much too difficult to even start using a non-admin account. I'm almost positive that the default user when someone buys a new PC is Owner/Admin. One actually has to do a lot of work out of the box in order to somewhat safely use a computer, but people don't see it that way. The majority of consumers see computers as something that "just works.
It's a conspiracy... I may still be paranoid, but my bet is that this story was paid for by a large corporation afraid of losing more revenue to small startups.
Version numbers are primarily arbitrary. The first private alpha of a project can start off at version 1.0 if the admins want it to.
Adding more support to a project does not directly translate to 'better' software, but it does make it more likely to get those "competent group[s] of engineers" that you speak of.
I think a better use of all of those zombie boxes would have been remote distcc clients.
You know what kinds of computers people buy for their grandmothers/other stereotypical Windows users-- stats to put a lot of our computers to shame.

Damn, now I don't have a movie to go to tomorrow night.
He probably should have thought about putting ads on his site beforehand... at least enough to pay for the courses he's taking.

Yeah, it only made the front page because of buzz-words. You can get anything by an administrator that way...

I hope you don't go through life by looks alone.
That is unless, of course, you use geNTkernel.
