Worst case scenario on the over consumption is that we all go back to using animals for labor and transportation (granted with a less beautiful earth after all the strip mining and mountain destroying). Who says we need to have our current energy based society for ever?
Yes, sorry I got off topic, though seriously discussing someone's claims that we have a climate change weapon seems ridiculous. Any use of such a weapon would be sure to harm ourselves as well.
p.s. What is "automisy"?
I really like that idea, but who would enforce such a pricing structure, as all the ISPs care about is charging as much as possible. Maybe if the government regulated rates much as they do with water, gas and electricity? I wouldn't mind a monthly fee that was itemized and made up of connection fee, maintenance fee, and actual bits transferred (possibly billed on a QoS/primetime scale) as long as all of those fees were fair and accurate.
Just because they have problems too doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to fix our own problems. Though working around a bunch of people who believe in god has permanently depressed my hopes for the world.
That's an excellent point, and I wonder about the scale of the comparative damage. I doubt some employee taking home some pens and pencils begins to compare to how much some executives or owners can drain from companies with their bonuses, compensation packages, stock plans, etc. Sorry, but if fired employees are taking some $10-20 worth of stuff, who cares?
I'd like to see a survey about business owners/execs and how much they like to underpay the staff to pad their own pockets.
"2. Flash is used for more than just video delivery on the Web."
Yes, we've all seen the popovers, popunders, and animated ads. This is 95% of the flash content on the internet - not video.
While I agree about how annoying those flash ads are, I also happen to see way more annoying ads (Animated gifs?) on my iphone sans flash than on my home pc with firefox and adblock.
My latest power supply (Corsair HX 850) has removable cables for the vid card, and drives. The main mobo cord was solid. (Not sure about the two optional +4s that went with it). The only downside, is now I have a little bag of extra cables to store somewhere.
Tire wear and tire traction are directly proportional with other factors being equal. If you have a tire that will last longer while rolling on one edge, then it will have tougher rubber that doesn't grip as well-- if only on that edge. I agree that this is some sort of scam or just poor engineering.
For 1000 hp, depending on the exact make of the engine, he may also need new block with 4 bolt mains, forged crankshaft, stronger rods, different pistons, cam, heads, etc etc.
Don't think you can just sup up an engine quite that easily.
I'm pretty sure Excel auto saves -- at least my copy of Excel 2007 does every 10 minutes. So, if Satan was "well ahead", even if Jesus saved right before the power went out, his 5 minutes of extra data entry would not be enough to overcome his inefficiency and Satan would win.
Heh, when I bought my first cd burner, blank cds from Best Buy were $100 for a 10 pack. In hindsight, man was I stupid. Now I know better than to hop on the bleeding edge.
I was about to say the same as far as iPhone email, and I'm loving the multiple Exchange account ability. Just wish it was more obvious that you need to setup your gmail account via the Exchange settings if you want push gmail.
This exact same thing happened with Star Trek Online about a year ago. At first I thought it was dubious as well, but the reports looked pretty believable, and patch notes eventually mentioned adding frame-rate caps to resolve just this issue.
To be fair, I just got an iPhone 4 last Thursday after using a Blackberry Curve for the last 2 years, and I'm amazed at how nice this phone is. I haven't really had any of the described reception problems either and I refuse to put a case on this beautiful piece of art. I'm just curious as to how this will all play out.
Really, for all we know, these are just decoy spies. Though, it's got to be difficult hiding spies in the age of inter-related databases and huge government powers.
This is why we need to move the cost of benefits from the employer to the government. Imagine how much easier and fairer it would be to hire people and pay them according to the job at hand and not worrying about 401k, unemployment, social security, etc.
Do you have no hills, or are you on of those guys who likes to show off his clutch wearing skill by rocking back and forth at a light? If the latter, I can only assume you are leasing that car or will dispose of it promptly and have no concern for later owners.

Yeah, that's what all the shills say. ;)
I'll agree with what you're saying, but just for the record, this page, http://auto.howstuffworks.com/1969-1970-ford-mustang-specifications.htm, has a mustang's weight at "Curb-weight range, pounds: 2,690-3,210 (1969); 2,721-3,240 (1970)". That's actually less than they weigh now.

Actually, StarCraft II could be killing graphics cards. I know that StarTrek Online has done so in the past.

Try having some tinnitus before you mock hearing damage. It's like listening to squealing crt tubes 24 hours a day for the rest of your life.
Wow. Guess it's no longer theoretical...

Also try http://www.killingfloorthegame.com/Killing Floor on http://store.steampowered.com/app/1250/Steam. I've spent way too much time preparing for the apocalypse, but I consider it an investment.

Same here in the greater Kansas City area. I think they want us to speed so they can increase revenue.
In theory, there are wide white lines indicating where your car should stop, but I find most people are either don't care or don't know about them.
