What you experienced was not what you apparently think it was.
Most likely, your boarding pass didn't register correctly when you got on the plane. As always, the flight crew does a head count to match against then number of people that presented boarding passes. Let's say they counted 100 butts in the seats, but only 99 boarding passes registered in the system. No hard task to figure out that you - REGARDLESS of your name or ethnicity - were the odd man out. Since you self-identified, no need to see your boarding pass. The crew was probably pissed off in general because getting the count right is of course mandatory.
Or, they could have been looking to offer you an upgrade to a better class. If you were travelling with someone, they'd not offer it as they wouldn't want to break you up.
Both have happened to me quite frequently, and I've seen it happen to others frequently.
So, quit your fucking goddamn whinging. Jesus. Fucking. Christ.
For a while there, I was thinking that perhaps Apple would merely *say* they wouldn't release many new features in Snow Leopard, but then turn around and at the last second release a feature-laden OS. But then I realized how hard it would be to do that. Too many third-party developers would have to be in the loop for this to work.
The idea would be to stop Redmond from using Apple as the R&D labs, as many suspect winds up being the case ("Start your photocopiers"), and deny MS even the opportunity to borrow for Windows 7.
The more I think about it though, the more obstacles I see to this. But it would be sweeeeet...
Sorry to burst your bubble, but this just isn't true, and I have first-hand knowledge that it isn't true. I know of many CDMA cell sites with NO backup power (across all of the major CDMA providers, and in multiple markets), I'm damn confident this will be true for GSM/UMTS as well.
Actually, the Finder has been re-done in 10.5 and its... actually pretty snappy now.
I was part of teh FTFF crowd, but I'm dropping out of that now as the performance issues I used to have are all gone now.
There are some UI-type gripes still around, but I'll leave those to the raving lunatics.
Ummmm.... it didn't "f*ck" with Tivos at all. They simply started recording at 8:31.
Turner did this before the advent of DVRs - shows started 5 minutes later, the idea being you'd be done surfing the other shows by then, find them wanting, and then notice this just-starting show on Turner.
I hope the MetroFi and and the airport aren't one and the same, as I'd hold out the PDX stuff as an example of free wi-fi being absolutely horrible.
Extremely low throughput, and DHCP leases in the 5-10 minute range. Absolutely useless for any sort of real use.
I tell them not to pull my credit score, it's not authorized by me, if they want me as a customer they'll have to figure out some other way. Generally this means me paying a bit more up front or a deposit but that's OK by me.
Cingular/AT&T cellular are notorious for doing hard-pull credit checks on everyone that wants service. The SSN is to enable that credit pull. I don't like it either.
I'm out of mod points, so I can't help there, but damn straight, get the dynamic range up there.
Right now, cameras can't get even close to the mark 1 eyeball where dynamic range is concerned.
I'll raise you on the wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging
Yes, there are people "abusing" the HDR process and producing things that "just don't look right" to many people, but done right, it's awesome.
This should be in the camera, not in post-processing SW.
This is about FOOTBALL (American) players, not all athletes.
Only a small subset of athletes get their bells rung on a regular basis.
Crikey already.

Meh. Can't hold a job. Can't get a degree. I may or may not be kidding about this.
Mitsubishi didn't just make the engines, they made whole planes...

It's pretty common for veterans to dislike products coming from their particular enemies that they fought.
Parent is exactly correct, continue to mod up.
Sadly enough, many people would be THRILLED to pay only $435 a month.
It's not 100% effective, anyone can send email to Occupant.
Yes, there's an opt-out list, yes it's effective but not 100%, no you don't have to pay to get on it.

Google "blue room" and "censorship."

I'm sorry to see this marked as a troll, as it's true.
Gotta love the mods....
Yep, that's exactly what I had in mind.
The internal workings aren't as important as I know I'll never work at either place. Interesting, darn tootin but not important.
"Microsoft is an amazingly transparent company. Google is not. "
Ya, right.

freakin' idiots, I tells ya...
So, let's stage something where the cops "see" commisaro leading them on in a chase. Hilarity ensues...
Since is is NOT a watermark, calling it one is simply incorrect.
Let me be more specific - 2.4 GHz N suffers from all of these problems. For now, I expect the 5 GHz N implementations to be in much better shape.
Tip of the hat to Apple for making all of their N gear 5 GHz capable.
Wag of the finger to just about everyone else for making their stuff 2.4 Ghz only, likely for backwards compatibility and cost savings.
