I don't they want it to work the way though. They will see the site you are requesting something from as a site that should be paying them access or they intentionally slow them down. Also while you are talking A to B you still go through other sites. If they implemented the same rules your packets would be intentionally slowed down as they have nothing to do with the place you are routing though.

    This is a bad thing.

On the other hand saying things like "Anonymous source" is liable to get you spanked in the media in the EU, we as in the US the media outlet just has to prove they didn't mean any malice in what they printed and they can pretty much print what they like.

One thing amazed me about the US when I lived there is how badly you are bombarded with adverts. Not just TV but everywhere. Really its like having a fast computer. You don't realise it until you start to try to use a slow one.

I found amazing, and very annoying. But for everyone else because they grew up with it they more or less blocked it out. Advertising companies know this, which is why adverts are becoming more and more intrusive. Take a look at this site.. http://www.womma.org/wombat/agenda.htm

It will give you an idea of how intrusive they actually get. Whats intresting in that site is that NCSofts Auto-Assault has used these marketing companies for viral/Gurrilla/astro-turfing. So having them put adverts into the game is just an extension of this to be honest.

As for the OP question. I wouldn't play it. I'd quit. If I am paying a subscription why the heck should I be paying to be spammed with adverts. Don't talk to me about it. Think it helps? Guess you have never seen "Deuce Bigalow: European gigalo" pictures in planetside.

Asherons Call had this somewhat as well. I recall the destruction of Rithwic was due to a random player being teleported to the gods in the game and asked what city he didn't like. Also when the Spires attacked some shards (servers) were able to fend them off and the remains were left behind on the server while others didn't and the zone was changed to reflect that. (afair).

You are then given this weird thing to hold up to the screen which using shaped lens would turn the mess on screen into characters which you could read. Basically it would allow you to copy the game without any problems at all and the game would work fine until about 2-3 minutes into the game where in D+D a monster would appear and wipe out your whole party or in the case of the airplane game an emeny would show up and blow out your engines in one shot.
