  1. Re:What? on Google's Ten Golden Rules · · Score: 1

I don't mean whether the law is good or bad. I just want to say that people in china would either not being able to look at google news at all or selected news only. All in all, they wont be able to read news the government dont want them to see. So there is no point in google not following their rules. They either follow the rules and they got a larger market while the people in china can make use of a "limited" great service (win win), or the don't follow the law in which case google will be blocked by the great firewall, which i think is a lose lose scenerio.

what is good about it is that they provide another option. An option is one that isn't forced down your throat, but it is for you to decide to use it or not. If you don't want to have to be internet-connected to work, you may install an office at home. If somehow you want to type out some note using word but is not available to you on that particular computer, it is also there for you to use.

I think its how a person value an item rather than time spent on it. Spending more time on it would definitely increase its value to that person but if its an superb item by its own self, it would be of great value to him in the first place.

Ideally, it would be a coorp that makes money off mozilla's software and those money would be invested back into the foundation to say hire more developer. The benefit we end user would see is a faster development cycle and more upgrades. But that is of course these lots won't fall into the wrong hands
