A little quote from your article - "The Blade found that despite an $87,568 federal grant to the Lucas County Board of Elections for "voter education and poll worker training . .." only $1,718.65 was spent from the grant."
Now, I could be wrong, but do you maybe think that it might be because the people working the machines had no flipping clue as to what they were doing?
A bit of a misnomer that statistic. Firstly it counts pretty much all Las Vegas weddings. Secondly, if a person marries, divorces, marries again, divorces again etc. that applies to the statistic as well. The actual number is much lower.
Ahh, the irony inherent in your post. In case you haven't been following, most PnP D&Ders find the game laughable at best. Really all it is is a crippled Diablo MMO set in ebberon, a world which is can basically be described as magipunk which the majority of PnPers have yet to touch. If I want to play in that setting I'll grab either D20 Modern or Shadowrun thank you.
Hey, quit dissing the dreamcast. That was actually a relatively good system. It flopped because of really poor marketing more than anything else. That and the fact that sega had no interesting prominent titles at the time, as well the fact that their last 3 systems or so had sucked ass.
If you look at the crime rates in america, one would surmise that the study is bullshit simply because there are much more violent games out today than there were 20 years ago, yet the crime rate has since '91 been pretty steadily fropping, as computers and therefore violent computer games become more and more accessable to the public. The opposite correlation is present from the correlation they show. And oddly enough, I haven't heard of a rash of geek spree killers occuring
You know some of the "misplaced money" is going to shit they don't want the public to have an inkling about. There's so many black projects out there for all sorts of stupid crap.
This doesn't explain how to deal with an international organization like the UN. I suppose we could try threatening them with force but somehow I don't see that as working.
Why should the US care about an organization that is rife with corruption on the part of it's constituents. As always, the UN is a prime case of a great Ideal smashed against the rocky reef of Reality. The fourth part of your three part plan would be the US bribing the members of the UN to allow us to do normal business evading any sanctions put upon it
He's a teenager, for most teenagers staying up past midnight is actually quite normal for their circadian rhythms. If I'm up at that time I generally am doing something like playing games or reading. Last time I checked, not much socializing went on at about midnight unless you're playing some sort of online game or in IRC.
This has been going on for years. Thing is, it was those who read extensively that were neglecting ttheir social life and/or their schoolwork. Since reading extensively for long periods of time takes patience and brainpower. Thus generally people who read a lot were classified as nerds and were considered an estranged group already. They had found their escape from reality and were happy with it. Now that there is a way to escape reality that doesn't take intelligence or especially in the case of D&D, great imagination, it is showing itself in those considered "normal". Suddenly, the fact that these kids are not satisfied with this oh so joyous and friendly reality of ours is a major problem because these kids were POPULAR. Quite funny really.
organizations like NOW and the sierra club are near the pinnacle of human hypocrisy. They are morons if the think they're saving the planet/life. Life has survived long before humans, it will survive long after.
It has cutscenes, albeit short ones.

Throwing contraband out of a moving car is perfectly legal if he cops don't find what you threw out and can't identify it.
It works for me as well. Did it with X3, Sacred Gold, and Dungeon Lords. All at the same Best Buy too.
10:1 says if you're a private soldier, you aren't going to be looking at Franken's site anyway, unless you mean to act the troll

Anybody want to place bets on the number of lawsuits that will pop up after Vista has been out for say... 2-3 years?

That's not because of false registration at all.

You're talking everquest, that's almost as bad as the SIMS. Now, if he was spending over 6 hours a day playing the Sims, I could see the problem.

Or just don't drink/eat anything with caffiene for 2-3 days, deal with the side effects and problem solved.
It's all those skeet and trap discs they keep sending out everywhere.
Aw, come on. What's not to like about a food mainly made up of yellow dye #5, air, and sugar.
Nobody's been busted for downloading

you can get it off Ebay for about 4 bucks
That's the plot for D3, the plot for HL2 promises to be much more complicated
