Something tells me Sony is going to do just as good a job fixing it as they have with PSP and PS3. Maybe SOE being a different branch will mean they have some sense left in their PR though.
I'm not suprised. I know a pretty large amount of people that have upgraded to Vista, and many others who plan to. As many problems as it has it's actually a pretty solid OS, and if you don't plan on gaming, then it's got some really nice features.
I'm really starting to get worried about our government, and the common American. All of this terrorist crap is turning into one big witch hunt. I don't like my neighboor, maybe I should report him and have the men with the black bags take him awawy...
Why would it matter if it's open source or not? This it under the Games section. It's game news. Just because it's not a game you're not interested in doesn't mean others aren't. I used to love the game and was happy to hear it brought up again so I can get some more kicks out of it. Why is any game update posted on/.? Because some subset of the readers is interested.

"Known problems:
- Soldat crashes after starting or joining game.
If your video card does not support rendering to texture technology (really old cards pre-Geforce era) then the only way to run Soldat is by checking Video Compatibility in Soldat Setup (under `More` tab).
Checking Video Compatibility means that you won`t take advantage of the new font rendering engine (UNICODE and shadows won`t be supported). Also the minimap won`t work. This is also the current way to run Soldat on Wine."
So no Linux client, but it appears to run in Wine.
If only there was a law so that people like this would just be shot, or actually, I should charge them. Because I have the right to collect royalties from anyone who comes up with bogus crap. To get their share they'll need to pay 200% of my share.
My parents rented Casino Royal, and I spent about 2 hours trying to get it to work on my laptop. My options became use a dvd player (which I have at home, but not school) or to download the movie. Needless to say, I don't rent when I'm not at home.
I'd love to take part in something like that. Reminds me of freshman year, we'd have fun by making things out of our crappy food.
My favorites were the Lettuce Luigi, and the Mario Question Block that I made out of a stale bagel, the different colors on different sides made for a fun effect!
I still only know one person with an HD TV aside from my parents. And it's not the money, it's just a lack of desire. Sure it's an upgrade, but it's just not that big of a deal to the average user. And I know many are still trying to figure out what to do with their VHS tapes. I'm not willing to accept that DVD is dead.
As a Computer Science student, I feel that I'm being taught pretty well what to look out for, and how to protect my rights. And at least where to go, or who to ask if I have concerns. I'm not sure how other majors are at my school though. While related to everyone in any career area, I know that Computer Science views IP as a pretty high priority.
It would be interesting indeed. Reminds me of a debate I had in a class recently about gun control laws. (From what I recall) Guns in Japan are difficult to find, and crime rates are pretty low. But at the same time Nearly everyone in Switzerland has a gun, and crime rates are also low. I think culture, and expectations of the government hold a large part in what the public of an area need or want censorship wise.
Let's see how the EU responds to this. I wonder if they will do anything at all, or if they will be activ eabout it. I haven't follwed their actions much at all since I live in America, but I have hopes for it.
While Guild Wars [GW] differs from World of Warcraft [WoW] in that there are no monthly fees, GW doesn't gives users free content like WoW does. And while a WoW player will pay more than a GW player, if you want to be competitive, you have to keep buying the expansions the GW crew is rolling out.
But, also keep in mind for any of you who have not played both, or either, they are entirely different types of games. If you want PvE, GW just doesn't have it. And WoW's PvP takes a lot more work to be competitive.

It's not the power of the console, it's how you use it.
Maybe you didn't read the article, but he got fired from his job for talking about a gun.
I know me and all my friends are going to have many all nighters when Brawl comes out!

Well I'm glad to hear this at least. I do find it a bit funny that PC World is now skewed to Apple heh.
Best hex sig.

Oh wow I'm excited. I used to love this game! To bad it had to come out during finals week haha. Screw graphics, I'd rather play a 2D scroller!!

RIAA is realy getting out of hand with their bullying. It's good to hear news about their losses, but their abviosly winning enough to keep harassing.

$40 isn't nearly enough to make that enticing.
I know that I can't wait for a WiiGuitar type game. Might be possible to make a great game with the Wiimate/Nunchuk as well!
Don't lie, you'd still hit it. At that age, it's a novelty. It's about the status, not the image.
I'm still waiting for the Leia and Amidala playboy special.

Microsoft isn't bowing down for nothing, this is all just the next step in their plan to buy the EU. Just watch, you heard it here first!
