  1. Re:EA disease is spreading on EA Trying to Buy Ubisoft Shares · · Score: 1

from what I've heard ubisoft has an oh-so great reputation for treating their employees well...

Yes, actually they do, I have 3 friends who work for Rainbow Studios in Phoenix and they love it! I've been told on multiple occasions that I have a seat there waiting for me. But I'm opting to finish college and grab a master's first.

But this news, along with the state of the industry as a whole is just very depressing...It seems that by the time I will get out and am ready to hit the scene, there won't be much left in terms of great places work for. All the legacy developers and publishers will have long been consolidated away or eaten up (as in the case of ubi.) And the only thing that will be remain are a bunch of these neo-fascist EA sweatshops.

It's sad but really, this is the only way I ultimately see the industry going...but I guess good things don't last forever.

    Fuck you,
Laws don't make things right or wrong, they just make things illegal.

In this case it's clear; they are abusing the copyright system to assert more money for themselves, while alienating you from your natural rights. They are using this system to blot out freedom of speech, chill research and stifle innovation, because technology no longer fits their business model.

It's only "stealing" because they've muscled laws into place making it such, freedom of speech is a natural right, a corporations "right" to profit and manage intellectual property is not.

Since last time I checked morality is an absolute, it does not bend for copyright law.

B/c first these things work by volume, windows has a farlarger userbase to attack than any of the others. Second, there are alot more, less knowledgeable users on windows than on other platforms. So statistically its far easyer to doop them into installing your garbageware than users of other systems.

With all the built in name recognition and positive brand identity the Google logo carries, it seems like "Growser" could easily steal the thunder away from firefox. Cause as we've all just seen, quality is irrelivent, its all about how bad you shuv it into the users face. I feal, a featured link on their homepage, combinde with growing public awareness, could quickly turn firefox into the underdog.
