One thing that is rare for them to admit is not knowing why something happens.
According to my physikcs teacher, this is quite often the case. Physics describe how things happen, the question why they happen is left to the philosophers.
I thought of stuff like gpsdrive or kismet, changing the mapscale gpsdrive shows while driving would be a lot easier with a microphone instead of a touchpad, you could even select another waypoint, or tell gpsdrive to guide you to the nearest McDonalds/Burgerking/CowboyNeal.
This is great, ViaVoice has disappeared for quite a while now on linux, I hope that this will open a great variety of cool open source applications. If this will be made modular like e.g. festival, I can think of endless applications worth using it.
Yes, Peeenemünde is on Usedom. I just found this entry in the german wikipedia: Seems like one of the last remaining buildings, the "Sauerstoffwerk" (oxygen factory) is being sold in an auction. Air was liquified there to retrieve Oxygen for use in the rocket programs. Unfortunatly, all of the machines are long gone, so starting your own run for the X-prize is not an option...
Cut and Paste don't work
It does, those ctrl-c ctrl-v thing has been introduced by KDE/Gnome, because those people always have to reinvent the wheel, whether the existing solution is useful or not. Use you middle mouse button, everythings fine. Games
Although their is a much wider variety of games available for Windows, many games that are important to me are running fine on Linux (UT2k4, ET, etc.), even more can be played using Wine, especially those using a Quake3 Engine (Jedi Knight series, Call of Duty e.g.). There are also plenty of free (beer as well as speech) games available, check out Linuxgames or HappyPenguin. Font display is awful
It's not, I can'u say anything more to this. Aplication installation is awful, poorly integrated with desktop(s)

As you can see, I was able to even copy & paste the above line. Font display is awful
Looks quite fine to me...
They also link to the Driver on Demand project on SourceForge, whose goal is to create a central database to enable Linux desktops download the drivers automatically when the user plugs in her new hardware device."
So it will just fetch the driver when I plug in my network card to get internet access...wait a minute...
No, seriously, this sound pretty nice, and is just the logical extension of the hotplug system we now have (it can be nasty, but most of the time it makes life really easy). Would be cool if this would fit nicely with the existing package system (Debian has module packages e.g.), I hate it to have two of those package/module/whatever databases fighting over the ownership of my filesystem.
I propose the creation of a virtual monument, dedicated to the unknown coder, who brought endless lines of code into our open source projects.
We salute you, faceless hackers of the light side!
Oh look, the-unknown-coder.org is still available...I guess it won't be in a couple of minutes from now?
According to myth, the Earth was created in 6 days. Now, watch out. Here comes Genesis. We'll do it for you in 6 minutes.
Well, Scotty would pretend that it would take 6 days in spacedock, but would complete earth in at least 3 days.
Perhaps he'd even hire Slartibartfas to model those fjords...
then they moved manufacturing to mexico (or china). it was amazing to hear the marketing people just about leave a blank spot in they speeches where it used to be.
Did they ever think about changing their name to Mexmark?

Quite right, the place is called "Penemünde", it's the Umlaut that gives it the special german taste :-)
One involves murder and mayhem; the other involves scoping out 2 Fast 2 Furious for free.
So, which one is worse?

Another reason why this ugly DHMO should be banned!
Ah, that explains a lot.
Oh wait, it doesn't....
"That's not a moon..."
Georgie needs a new pair of shoes!
However, in Japan, Intelnet would still be called...
But think of China! Can Intelnet adopt to IPv10?
only for those who avoid soap :-)
But Han swam first!
I, for one, welcome our new robotic, fly eating overlords.
