Wouldn't it be easier to just have a series of repositories where you can say "I'm sending a package to {insert name}, please provide me one of his locks." You then lock your suitcase with the lock which the trusted source assures you is his, and send it. He then uses his key to unlock his lock and retrieve your information from the suitcase.

You could also eliminate the repository by arranging to exchange locks at some point in time. To verify that the package did indeed come from you you could even include one of your own locks in with the package before you secure the package with his lock.

Much easier than paying postage on one suitcase 3 times just to exchange some secure information.

I'm curious, do people in the US actually aim for a mere two second interval?

Not at all. From my experiences the target interval seems to be closer to 0.15 seconds
(1 car length at 70 miles per hour (113km/h)).

Frequently I find people unable to keep quite this much distance between themselves and
the car in front of them, though I fail to understand precisely why.

Another problem is most of the people I know are suprised when you tell them they should
be 2 seconds behind the car in front of them, they all seem to think that 2 car lengths
is what the test said, and that it was just a recommendation.

Legislate your morality elsewhere. I want to have 3 wives if i damn well please. And i want the government not to recognize marraige as a binding legal contract so they can't each steal half of my assets..... or so my sleazy neighbor can get his part-time-hooker benefits based on a Las Vegas priest's proclimation "I now pronounce you..."

Sounds good to me, with some caveats. I see no problem with you having 3, 4, ot 40 wives, assuming you and the wives like it that way. On a similar note, I see no problem with one of your wives having 3, 4, or 40 husbands, provided she, you, and the other husbands like it that way.

As to marriage being a binding contract, that's a good point too. The term "marriage" has a great many connotations, particularly religious or spiritual ones, to many people. This is fine, but has no place in a contractual obligation. Marriage should instead be treated as a private affair or ceremony with no real legal basis; leaving civil unions or other contracts available for legal purposes.

Basically just agreeing with you here, but we may have some differences when considering actual implementation and details.

he response to that included a map showing that the Romans did indeed conquer the majority of the lands controlled by the Celts, with the exception of Scotland and Ireland.

So, yes the OP is correct in the observation about Scotland and Ireland, but incorrect in contradicting TFA's observation of the Romans conquering a majority of the Celtic lands.
