the US isn't 'relying' on the middle east for oil. us oil imports have never been more than 20%.
however the US is interested in the mideast's CHEAP oil.
AT MOST, and I'm exaggerating, terrorists are 1/100,000? With (what?) hundreds of air marshalls in the sky, you can see where this will end up. There is no way a marshall will identify a "real" "POTENTIAL" "terrorist".
In its mainstream forms, Islam is an expansionist movement, it is intolerant of other religions and atheism, it is exclusive, it does advocate theocracy, it does consider the use of force to conquer territory for Islam justifiable, it is oppressive of women, etc
storing so much information is just irresistable for even the most restrained gov. i don't know how google can get so big while at the same time not be subjected to legal hassles.
at such a point, and we're close, google will have to set base in "Googleland" and register with the UN if it continues on such ambitious plans.
on the other hand, they could decentralize everything by offering somekind of personal server for users.
I think it is the responsibility of Western media to amplify messages like these instead of the action-movie-like scenes of bearded guys burning flags!!It is also the responsibility of Muslims to reach out to Westerners to educate them. I find that islamonline.net is one of the best examples that speak to a Western culture. Of coures, much more can be done, on both sides. Similarly, for you Americans, when English aljazeera comes to American homes, just CONSIDER it as another source for news. It is my opinion that it's unbiased (routinely aggravates BOTH political sides) BUT it will focus on matters that are important to Muslims and Arabs.
RELIGION DOES NOT KILL! RELIGION DOES NOT KILL! RELIGION DOES NOT KILL!
- shadows. eg players casting shadows add a strategic element to gameplay.
- water effects. eg players can hide in water. depending on lighting conditions, the water can be transparent or reflective.
- HDR effects. eg. if you just came out from darkness (hiding) it should be a disadvantage to you.
- motion blur. eg if you use a rapid fire weapon you should be disadvantaged b/c you should experience vibration.
having said this, however, i don't see any other gameplay altering graphics features. from now on, all i expect to see is a steady march towards more realistic rendering.

I've got one of those. It's slow for its main purpose of file transfer let alone having it run a bittorent client. The're cheap though.
too bad the people high up in government only represent the needs of israel.

I agree with the parent.

The US has vast reserves of coal. We wouldn't have to rely on the Middle East.

this is all wrong. i don't want to disprove them here. go read http://www.islamonline.net/
i mean already the only reason people buy a mid to upper range card is to play games. it makes alot of sense to put it on the graphics card.
admittedly, im not addressing whether this chip is useful.
but for newer ones that have yet to break even (they don't all manage to at the box office) it's definitely a factor.
what if the movie sucks and it deserved to lose?
i share the same feeling about being locked in to systems when they could easily talk together.
i see a future when people make use of xml/rss for data interchange. the goal of your appleseed is already technically feasible.

Most just ignore the order to kill infidels much in the same way as most christians ignore the rule that slave trade is okay.

Here is a DIRECT response, by Muslim SCHOLARS/CLERICS, to the allegation that Islam instructs to kill non-Muslims. http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?cid=
