maybe you're outsourcing the wrong type of work. only the most simple, direct, and well-defined work should be outsourced...i.e. stuff that needn't be 'managed' so much.

people (most people) who just browse, use office, email..etc. dont need more than the computing power available around year 2000. so a typical 2005 laptop is going to have a typical 2003 desktop computing power for about ~$1000.

I think it's amazing that different kinds of PC hardware can run games at all. Yes, alot more can be done; but much more has already been done. I think we need to work on software that runs independent of the OS. Just as OS should be hardware independent, we need to develop software that is independent of the OS.

i suggest something in a web FORUM format. one subject, many notes from many different people.
combine file folders and tags. supposedly, the next gen file system for windows will do this.
just have your storage portable (eg. "my documents"), and plug it into any computer you use.
