Yes, but the deniability only comes after authorities already harassed^Wcontacted me, which equals to stress, wasted time and energy. Not to mention that they could simply ignore the whole tor anonymous-distributed-network thingy, and say "it came from your IP, we're blaming *you*".
Maybe I'm weird, but I simply do not want to be responsible for someone else's traffic. That's why I will never run a tor node.
But we've strayed off the topic, let's not waste any more readers' time here, it is better spent plotting the brickage of world's home computers.:)
One more reason not to use tor. What if the "purge command" leaves tor network through me, something goes wrong, the "purge command" is traced back to me, and I find my door being knocked on by few officers wanting to have a little friendly chat?
Indeed, and once you get hang of it, you can fly with great precision. The only exception for me was helicopter control, which I liked better in Vice City.
Consider it a way for the small development team to shift some of the burden of content creation to the fan base, leaving them with more time for further development.
A great way to eventually increase player base by offering more content, if you ask me (which, I'm sure, you don't).
I just tend to type "g search terms" in the URL bar - much faster, as cursor is in that bar when opening new tab in firefox. Ohnoes, I am stealing money from mozilla!
(Some geek had to point this feature out, so why not me?:) )
> And you know what? I wouldn't spend a day compiling X if I wasn't paid $100 for it. That's just not my idea of fun - I'll rather do something else with the little freetime I have.
It's not like _you_ are doing all the compiling. _You_ can do other things while _your computer_ compiles it for you.
>(I'm not even entirely sure exactly what said flamewar was about - I think it was related to some spinoff project of ciaranm's Paludis package manager, but I'm not sure if even the Gentoo devs know.)
Yes, gentoo devs know very well what was it about. Unfortunately it appears as if author of the discussed article doesn't - no context provided as to what "project" refers to in quote of ciaran's post. The article makes it sound like he was talking about gentoo project as a whole - which is far from the truth.

OS/2 may not show the BSOD, but it does crash from time to time. Even in ATMs. It's hard to find an O/S that never crashes.
Yes, I've had this happen to me, although it was probably more of an application fault:
I inserted my card, pressed one of the context buttons on side of the screen to choose language, and when PIN prompt screen appeared, I pressed the same button again. Poof, screen went dark, and next thing I saw on screen was a nice, shiny OS/2 logo.
Fortunately, after two or three(!) reboots, the ATM software started up properly, and the machine spat out my card.

Why would you care at that point? You would be dead, anyway. Well, unless a zombie virus spreads, but what are the odds of that?

Which one?
Something would go wrong, and at the end there would only be one survivor making it into the sequel.
That's OK, your computer probably had time to send only about 300000 spam mails.
Where there is smoke there is fire. Am I right?
No, sometimes there really is just smoke.
Nah, what they really need is an aimbot.

After playing lot of UFO Enemy Unknown, I always felt the urge to check how many time units I had left before leaving home. :)
At least be thorough - you forgot to mention the chips in our heads.
All it takes is one bored idiot. Just ignore it.
Fucking Republican trolls like you are what's brought this country to financial ruin and the brink of civil war.
You mean the Slashdot country?
Does anyone else feel like themes on browsers are sort of like cozies on toasters?
No, they are the same people who set a custom background on their desktop. You know, normal people like you and me.

Hey, you _were_ able to make Indy die in Indiana Jones 4: Fate of Atlantis...
I thought this was slashdot, where news topics are discussed, not community support forum.
Hey, cut the man some slack - he didn't rate his post so high himself, it's the moderators who are (as usual) on crack. :)

I liked how you added "Eat a dick" afterward. That'll show him!
