I noticed that a bit when i was working on my ceg degree. Those who didn't quite do well in ceg decided to switch to cs, and those who didn't do so well in cs got moved to mis. I was fairly scared to actually go into the computer field and went back to work for a consulting firm as a cadd tech that i had been doing on breaks. Needless to say i was really lucky.
The satellite only really moved the 'console' closer to you. It is a box to connect your controllers to. Thought that and/or the four score gave the advantage of being able to sit across the room on the couch and play games.
Most modern switching power supplies will only supply what is actually needed by the system. The power needed by the system + the inefficiency of the power supply is what is drawn from your wall socket. i.e. if you place this in your system, and your system is only drawing 400watts, only 400watts + the inefficiency of the power supply is drawn from the wall.
Energy is a derived unit. it is in m^2kgs^-2 Speed is also a derived unit. it is in ms^-1 So when you pick a definition for time and distance, everything matches up.
You can't hear or know about people who don't feel the need to actually have their voice heard, so only those willing to take the time to get their point across are heard. If you want to be represented, send in your letters like the ~6000 you have cited in your post. Without letters from the other side, the majority of those who cared said they didn't like it. And calling the letters pointless requests is the opposite of what actually should happen. All requests should be brought into consideration, even those you don't like.
Then the person/device/thing handing out tickets/numbers/ids is the one taking the brunt of the damage. Unless you make it so its not worth something to somebody, you have to deal with the problems. I agree there has to be a better way to deal with it, but time and time again, it still happens.
PDFs are becoming the de facto archive and deliverable format of choice for a lot of engineering firms and state DOTs. Everybody can read them, you can protect them (though it seems lots of people don't really like this), they print out the same everywhere. And the new addition of 3d modelling and viewing that adobe has just added make quick correspondence and checks to complex issues available to everyone.
One of the Loews Theatre Complexes by my parents house already sell fried chicken/hot dogs/hamburgers/ribs/etc. Its rather rediculous. But then, people like my sister love it. She can go with her daughter and grab dinner and a movie in the same place.
The only movie i've ever seen multiple angles in, and actually made some nifty use of it was Animusic. It is computer animated music. http://www.animusic.com/
During high school i used to be able to type about 15-20 wpm on my TI82. If i was programming, i could get a lot higher, but that was due to memorization of the menu system, before all these fancy usb hookups and where hacking the transfer cable to give it sound was the sign of a true geek.
Rechargeable AA and AAA batteries. I know many people who carry about a dozen rechargeables to use in their portable player. They can last for days without having to worry about a dead battery. and if the batteries all died, you can get replacements anywhere.
I'm not sure how they did it, but back when i was in school, they were using 4 cameras and pattern matching to create 3d models of subjects, and were doing all sorts of other techniques to build models. Some of the research can be found here http://www.cs.wright.edu/~agoshtas/lab.html/
Open cases can in fact cause higher temperatures due to uneven or even stagnant air flow. Closing the case and having good air flow through the case would be much better, unless you intend on connecting a box fan to the open side of your case...
My cell phone is an older verizon phone (don't know exactly, bought it cheap early last year) and it has a button where you can click it once, then choose 1 to add.com, 2 to add.edu, 3 to add.org. It wouldn't be too hard to add a 4.mobi 5.biz 6. info, and you wouldn't have to worry about it?

Train simulator is more like the real simulators they put you in when you're actually in charge of the train than a game simulator.
Most likely no.
If it absorbs microwaves and heats up, it will be visible to infrared.

To impart a punishment on the next occurance of the unwanted behavior.
Positive and Negative Reinforcement.
Positive and Negative Punishment.
A mixture of all 4 works wonders.
I can bend peoples minds, with my SPOOOOON!

World of warcraft does this for large portions of its world. Dungeon Siege also does this fairly well.

My only problem with building quiet systems is that in 6-8 months, they are noisy again. Its really annoying.
I did that back on my first computer. After every keypress i had it randomize the scancode table... It was hillarious... for about 2 seconds.
Maybe, i dunno, GET A WATCH?

There are garbage collectors for c++, however, you probably mean in the language or standard libraries right?
