Because Dell always has retarded pricing that change every few days, with some machines with the exact specs cost differently depending on how/where you configure them?
Yes, and? Apple does it. The latest version of Safari RSS isn't available for the previous point release of OS X, let alone a totally new OS. But wait, if it's Apple, no one on slashdot complains, because its not MS.
Er. Scratch that. That's SP1. But the point still stands that Safari RSS can't be installed on Panther which is just over a year old, which really is a bit ridiculous.
Around here there's free public phones that you can use; only requirement is to watch a short ad on the built-in screen. Of course, you can always just look the other way until the ad is done, but meh.
In comparison with Safari, IE fairs better on your second point. You can't upgrade to the latest point release of Safari unless you lay down the cash for the latest point release of OS X.
To tell you the truth, I think most people who play on Live dont really think of the subscription cost as a big deal. Sure you're paying for it, but playing on Live (with a well designed game, like Halo 2), the experience far beats anything you have on a PC. I wish more PC games take a hint from Halo 2's matchmaking service.
Also, nothing stops MS from releasing an MMORPG that has a subscription rate, ala a reduced one. For example, instead of the regular $10-$15, you can charge $5 a month for people with a full live membership, and $10 for people with a basic free one (that comes with all xbox 360 accounts).
Sure, someone will probably find some small grammatical error in this post
makes that purpose much more difficult pursue.
You forgot the "to"
This will in no way change my point.
I think most of the time the poster is just ignorant.
So by your own words, you're ignorant. Ahh. Gotta love grammar nazis who make mistakes in their posts.
There's a different between Som31 t4lk1ng li|3 th|5, and someone making a typo in a post where everything else is perfectly readable and understandable, without ever having to struggle or reread the post, as is the case with the post in question here.
os x has been basically the same (although it has clearly evolved)
Something cannot basically stay the same, and evolve at the same time. Evolution signifies a significant change. Basically staying the same defies that evolution.
In short, I think you were right the same time: OS X has basically stayed the same, and Apple has charged its fanboys every 12-18 months over $100 to 'upgrade'.
I've always heard people utter this bullshit, but I've never seen it experienced. I've never had a problem installing XP and having it do its update thing and being infected in between.
First point: most video game stores I go to card you if you buy an M-Rated game.
Second point: the movie ratings also started out as "guidelines" so that movie companies cover their asses from lawsuits.
But what the parent was trying ot say is why is this a big deal? It's an M rated game, ie "Mature". "Mature" people can handle to see a little nudity, just like they can handle seeing far more graphical nudity in R-Rated movies. And what age difference is there between Mature and AO? Isn't AO 18+? So 17 year olds cant handle it, but 18 year olds can?
Why, exactly? I've seen people say this, a lot, but I've yet to see a reason why? I'm not saying IGN is great (they suck), but so what if they take ads? They have to make money somehow. And (at least on GameSpot), I've yet to see their reviews altered by said ads. I once ran into an interstitial ad at gamespot for an EA game just before going to the game's review, which was harsh, and gave it around 5.6, which is hardly a good review. So what more do you want? Besides, in gamespot if you pay the $30 fee for gamespot complete, you get absolutely no ads.
I believe you can change the settings, but that's not the problem. The automatic scanner hogs up system resources, uses too much ram, and their firewall breaks your computer.
Ugh. As a person whose built thousands of machines, you should know installing Norton AV is the culprit. I've gotten rid of Symantec's pile of turd ( I find McAfee is far nicer in terms of resources), and I don't experience much slowdown.

You say that like buying a good game is somehow a sin.
Telus is far from a "monopoly" ISP in Canada. The biggest two are either Bell for DSL or Rogers for cable.
Enjoy :)
And how is this different with Windows?
Yes, and? Apple does it. The latest version of Safari RSS isn't available for the previous point release of OS X, let alone a totally new OS. But wait, if it's Apple, no one on slashdot complains, because its not MS.
I concur. Foxit is absolutely amazing. The only complaint i have is that their icon is fugly.
Er. Scratch that. That's SP1. But the point still stands that Safari RSS can't be installed on Panther which is just over a year old, which really is a bit ridiculous.
It runs on Windows 98, which is over 7 years old. In comparison, you cant run the latest version of Safari on Panther, which is just over a year old.

Apple's logic boards are always unreliable. Mine died, had to get it replaced, which also died promptly. This was on a powerbook.

uhh. the taskbar? You dont even need to move your mouse/click a key to see all open windows, you have them right there in your taskbar.
edit: "right the first time"

Don't you mean ACME?
As if Sony can manage a good release? At least the Xbox had a killer app at launch, what did the PS2 have?

Your relationship is built upon a sham. You are no longer "nerdy" or "geeky". Everyone knows nerds and geeks don't have girlfriends!
