Ah yes, because we all know that every processor has exactly the same features, and that 64-bit processors are really just 32-bit processors and its really just a sticker they put on the box to trick you into upgrading.
Is pay-per-view on the PC for live events. More specifically NHL hockey. I live in a blackout region, so even if I subscribe to a 50 dollar per month satellite package, I still cant watch NHL hockey until the playoffs. I also dont want to buy Center Ice which is every damn hockey game of the year for 120 bucks. I just want my teams games, the ones I have time to watch. Id pay 5 bucks per game to get streaming video of it.
Because my DVD player cant download or stream any kind of content from anywhere but a disc.
Because my digital projector can't achieve anything higher than an XGA resolution.
Because my receiver/speakers consume far more power and create a buzzing sound when not in use. Nor can it retain the information required to keep different components at different volumes/eqs/resolutions.
Because my DVD player cant timeshift or record.
Because 4.7GB just isn't enough.
Because Enemy Territory doesn't run on my DVD player.
Because my DVD player cant get my email.
Because none ofthese things are a PC. So "it must be a PC".
If you're reading this post via your DVD player, feel free to flame me.;-)
So will this be like the last time this was attempted? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIVX
Or will the DVD player actually contain a destructive laser to physically disable the DVD permanently?
Either way, you wont see me using this.
A slowdown does NOT always lead to a stop. I may slow down when approaching a red light (the release of IE 7), but when it turns green again (the disappointment in IE 7 after it hits the streets) I keep going.
Im okay with a 1% every two months as opposed to every one month. Progress is progress, regardless of whether or not its at a break-neck pace. The numbers wont be shrinking anytime soon.
I dont use an "official" client. I dont use an "official" server. Does this even affect me, besides the user-count? What do they do inbetween that severs/maintains this connection?
PDAs, cell phones, gaming consoles... These are all items that the manufacturer actually LOSES money when they sell. The money is in the accessories, software, games, etc. They dont care about selling units if the user isnt buying software. More homebrew apps means more modding, meaning more copied media and more lost money.
That's simple. Don't buy the game. All a company that would seek out a monopoly cares about is money. If you arent giving them money, they dont have any money. If they dont have any money, theyll do anything it takes to get money. In this case, make a decent game.
But then again, if the money is on Mars, whoever is heading this project is paying up front. Anyone who has this kind of money to put up is very unlikely to have science's best interests in mind. The next time you pick up a telescope you'll see Mars with a big Nike "swoosh" carved into it.
I keep seeing people say that Slashdot doesnt render properly in Firefox, but Ive yet to see the issue.
Ive been using Firefox since Phoenix, and this site has always rendered properly.
Perhaps it only affects Windows users.
"My product is inferior, and thats not fair!"
I doubt anyone consulted with radio programmers before launching a TV news program.
Change with the times, or the times will change you.

For people who want to make multiple optimized kernels for distribution while using only one PC.
But not useful enough to justify the purchase. I do this, but I use separate PCs, and will continue to.
Can't wait for MS ads on my toilet paper.
And I can't wait to wipe my ass with it. Those Windows CDs are rough on the ol' starfish.

Procrastinating Platypus - The REAL "slack"ware ;-)
The point is *if* he is a thief, then he's only "a Robin Hood".
Because my DVD player cant download or stream any kind of content from anywhere but a disc.

Young people are not as educated as old people who have had much more time to educate themselves.
How the hell is this news?
At the same time, does this mean my grandpa is now a reliable news source?
And now the Grandpa forecast: "Screw your newfangled doppleganger alien radar crap! Me doppleknee says there's a storm a-brewin!"
For christ sakes, its still on the front page. Perhaps the only words our mods can read are "cut" and "paste".
So much for that new self-brushing toothbrush. Lets see Windows XP Home Automation do that!

We dont need no water. We dont need no water.
My biggest issue with e-books is Im not going to waste all that battery on it. Ill just carry the book.
Aside from that... howabout white text on a black background? I dont want to read from a glowing screen.
It'll bring down the price of the MX1000, the one thats out of my price range but has the features I want/need.
So, what are the players to do?

12' audio cable: $1.99
The feeling of getting ripped off by purchasing a wireless device that cant even reach as far as your own arms and legs: priceless
When I was in grade school they called it Planet X and/or Planet Humphrey. What ever happened to that?

6. And Kevin Bacon was in a movie called Hollow Man... which was complete Dookie.
