I couldn't even see the lines on the road myself. I really wonder how these autonomous cars are going to deal with snow storms without any way for the human to take over.
just go android already. keep the bb email system and bb messenger and the coporate guys would be fine with it. and get all the android apps the users would be happy about.
If I remember it correctly, sometimes it's not a choice they can even make. I remember there was a case of a farmer's field being close to another GM crop field and his field was basically taken over by the GM crop because the GM crop was hardier. Then Monsanto sued him....
The 1st thing I thought of for this was, 'great, never have to change battery on my wiimotes again.' Can't wait for this to go into production.
Now the important question, how about voltage? can they package this into a AAA or AA form and still get the required voltage?
While $1400 seems high, it probably covers more than just plain material cost. There is quite a bit cost involved in the paperwork, testing, approval what have you. Dealing with the military isn't like installing a new router for your brother-in-law.
Now this one is easy, it's all in our mind. We think we farted therefore we are not grossed out. If you, say, bottle it up for a day and smell it without realizing it's our own, I am sure you would throw up. ROFL.
This thread is reminding me of a new word I learned from a recent confession on my anon confession website, Cropdusting - fart while walking around the cube farm. see http://www.sayitt.com/i-fart-at-work

1.3 mil, hmm... I am sure that's even less than a slap on the wrist for Sony. So what's even lower than a slap on the wrist, a tickle on the finger?
so as a consumer, am I still allowed to sue Sony for "hacking my computer and breaking it."? Probably not, eh? How about I got and install rootkit on some Sony's computer?

Hmm.. I remember reading somewhere that sense of smell is first to develope, then it gets surpassed by sense of sight and eventually relegated to background.
I, for one, can't even smell my own breath.

"You insult the Bush administration and Microsoft in the same comment on Slashdot and you say "Go ahead, mod me down." You are definitely new here otherwise you would've known that either one of those alone would've given you an instant +5 Insightful."
Maybe you are new here. Didn't you know that saying "Go ahead, mod me down." always get instant +5.:)
"we're all subject to hundreds of times more ads, plugs, and influences - what's more we don't even realize it."
So you are saying the fact that a lot of website is supported by ads justifies spyware and spamming? Going back to your original post, you are just telling us to 'get over it'. I guess you like your spyware and v i a g a r a emails.
It doesn't have to be that way you know. That's why spammers are being sued. If everyone just accept things as they are, there would never be any change for the better.
"who would give a rats ass if nobody goes on the internet."
What makes you think nobody will go on the internet? I regularly check hobby sites for hardware hack, discussion groups for cars, business related forums... none of that belongs to a big company. People like to put stuff up online and other people like to view them. Have you heard of 'blogging'???
"People need to get over the fact the internet is brought to you by companies who are paying huge sums of cash to put their product in front of you and they will find any and every way to get you to see them."
No, internet was brought on as a collbration tool used by universities. If all the big companies disappear off the face of internet, most of the sites that were built by users as a hobby or to share information with the world would still be there and internet would still be 'good' and probably 'a better thing'
The idea is to look to the long term. So something may be urgent right now but ultimately irrelevant to your long term goal.
The one cited often is telephone or email. If you are working on something important, or talking to someone about something important and the phone rings. Now a ringing phone is very urgent so a lot of people tend to answer the phone and interrupt their important work for it. In a lot of cases, the phone is totally irrelevant. So it's far better to ignore the phone and concentrate on your work.
So a lot of other things like doing dishes, taking out garbage, getting that report done, clean your desk, or even paying your credit bill (some of you may disagree with this) may be considered urgent but not really important.
Norad is based on Microsoft virtual earth, so I would think the two would not give you the same postion. To think, there is a google santa and a microsoft santa.:)
Hosted by AWS? Doesn't AWE ask to set up password by default?

thanks. he should have made it wrap. that would be interesting
omg it's huge. is there anyway to download that image to view at my leisure? I am truly impressed by the idea and the work that went into it.

rules of the swarm applies to more than just simple creatures. it probably can be used to study our society, mass hysteria, war, religion.....

So now I can get virus and VIRUS by shaking hands with people? I think I will bow from now on.
Anyone see the photo? It doesn't look much like a bear, more like a cat. And yeah, it's creepy either way.

no, just like TV never truly replace radio. They will just diverge and serve different functions in the long run.

"a new way to make the drug from two cheap, plentiful petrochemicals, acrylate and butadiene"
:)
Petrochemical eh? as in petro based? Does this mean gas price is going up more once we start making these drugs?

'London's traffic is nothing compared to Manhattan's'
have you been to london during rush hour? I have been to both cities for work, and trust me london is worse.
