    Neutral is always hot!

    3-tap transformer:
    #####--- V1
    #####--- Neutral --- Ground
    #####--- V2

    V1 to Neutral = 120V
    V2 to Neutral = 120V
    V1 to V2 = 240V
    Neutral to Ground 0V

    The "neutral" is connected to the center tap on the transformer in split phase systems. The ground (green) wire has to be connected to the neutral bus or it would be point less (no return path).

    * In sub panels the neutral and ground should never be connected (ground loop)!
    * The neutral wire has the same amount of energy running through it as the black wire!
    * A GFCI outlet will save you from your shitty Dell. Install them!

    A flashing red light does mean "stop and go if clear"... Think stop sign. A flashing yellow light means yield. I think maybe you confused the train crossing light with a traffic light. In the US you can always turn right on red, unless there is a sign saying "no turn on red".

    And OpenOffice has PDF export out of the box. OO-Draw + OO-Math OLE Objects + PDF Export = Easy scientific publishing. My only gripe with this combo is that it's hard to do tables.

    I was in your position a few years ago, now I have a degree in mathematics. The first thing you should realize is your not bad at math, you just had bad teachers. Your best bet is to completely rebuild your foundational knowledge. You can do this by taking, self paced / no calculator permitted, remedial classes (i.e. 5th or 6th grade math) at a local community college and then work your way up to wherever you'd like to stop. It's a lot of work in the beginning, and you will feel embarrassed taking remedial classes, but in the end it pays off. For me it was a 4.0 GPA and a well tuned analytical mind.

    Also... Once you ace college algebra, go buy a book called "Mathematics: From the Birth of Numbers" by Jan Gullberg.

    Standing in front of a blackboard and addressing the students orally is an excellent method of education.

    And interactive, for that matter.

    But what about pause, rewind, and 2x playback? You say your method is best, but then you've never had ADHD.

    So why is Photoshop faster on Leopard then on Tiger? As an ADC member I have access to all the seeds and I can tell you without a doubt that Leopard IS faster then Tiger.
