Without the explinations point saying it out loud sounds pretty funny actually.

The search outcomes could actually be quite usful if the page stays up, you could search for something twice on 2 different search engines and compare the results/get twice as many.
That would be a really good idea, RSS would mean that it can be updated instantly and people can see a list whenever they want, this would be especially useful if someone is unemployed and has little money so uses a 'pay per minute' dial up connection, they can go online quickly and check while saving money by not sending ages searching for themselves on the internet.
I havent started work yet and am still in education at the moment but, even though the school is mainly M$ XP based, i think one of the network servers runs off Linux.
There is also OpenOffice on some of the computers which is very good when i transfer work from my laptop with MandrakeLinux on it. There is also GIMP on the network too and I think the head of the IT department was thinking about installing FireFox or Mozilla over the network. I tried using portable firefox on my USB pen once but the proxy server is really restricting and let me to bugger all.
Never dare someone to do stuff like this, it is just too tempting of a target.
If they weren't offering a prize, it would be the best way to test a new security system. Why pay companies to test your new 'secure' OS/website/firewall etc when you can just go onto about 5 popular IRC channels and arrogantly boast about your 'super unhackable' system/website etc. Then see how effective it is, and patch any holes that are found.
If a lot of the CD's are still in the Jewel cases, I would suggest getting some sort of Metal holder for them, I saw somewhere there is a metal box for holding about 20CD cases which isnt that much but im sure bigger ones are avliable. With CDs in a metal box of some work they will get less damaged then in the binder things although harder to transport around.
Clients are told up-front what my rates and fees are, and when they don't pay, I withhold delivery. It's a game I like to play which I would hope gets the message across, yet doesn't.
Thats a really clever idea, reminds me of something I did recently in my Business Studies lesson, something about companies withholding payment, I had a sheet of excuses that are frequently used by companies and counter questions to get payment fast, one of them goes like:
Company ABC: Why have you not paid?
Company XYZ: Check is in the post! Honest!
Company ABC: Can I have check and postage details then?
Company XYZ: errr... shit
I think it would be great to work at home to be honest, saves time and money traveling and would let me have more sleep due to less traveling; more sleep=better worker. I would forefit a raise for working at home because (expecially if I have to pay for travel) it would probably be cheaper in the long run, as well as food costs. Cooking something is usually quite cheap, buying fast food is relitivly expensive in comparason.
I think one of the best way to conserve energy would be to generate it with different means as well as using it less, therefore more energy to go round to a shrinking market so there will be lots of excess energy; other raw materials can be saved instead of used.
I have a 2 different torches, neither need a battery and neither will need a battery. One is powered by shaking it for a few minutes which charges some electromagnetic coils (like in Science at school) which powers the torch for 10 or so minutes. The other torch is a better; for about 10 seconds of squeesing this weird thingy sticking out the side (i love technical language) if gives the torch about 10 or 15 minutes of power.
I think there should be other ways that people could do during their everyday lives that generate power. Instead of walking or jogging to keep fit, someone should invent some kind of huge hamster wheel that generates electricity - you keep fit AND generate electricity. Although storing a huge hanster wheel somewhere would be hard.
Loaded question. You are always more productive in the environment you are familiar with.
I have to agree there, its not nececarily the Operating System either, you can set up almost any OS to work how you like it but its also the surrounding area of where the computer is physically located. For example, I find it easier to work in my room on my laptop with Linux rather then on the (really) old computer I have downstairs (with Windows 98). Its a more peaceful surrounding, although the downstairs computer has internet access so that probably limits my productivity as well.
Basically, its not just the OS that determines productivity, it is a variety of other factors effecting productivity as well.
I downloaded this a few days ago, wated to use Firefox at school becasue they only have IE there (and I prefer firefox) but the security of internet use on the network is high and it wouldnt let me use it at all. Kinda unfortunate, the portable file didnt open so I had to try the normal file which worked, but wouldnt connect to the net at all.
On a related note, I have to say that I like programs like this, ones that can be installed onto a USB pen, it means I can sue them on pretty much any computer without installing a program over and over again.
However, only a few junk e-mails get through to Gates's inbox thanks to anti-spam technology that filters his messages, Ballmer said at a Microsoft event in Singapore.
By reading that, it says technology so i would assume that there is some software filters, not humans although he probably uses a mixture of both.
Yea, I read that and thought it would be really pixelated, the image itself is actually pretty good quality if it is 7M per pixel. That and from 200KM away im surprised that it didnt get really blurry.
In that case, all you need to do is make cellery taste like potato chips. As far as i know, cellery has so little calories that you loose more eating it then you get from eating it.
Oh, Gold version, I dont get Gold verions, they should either make a game good enougth to be gold in the first place or make a new (or different but with a similar theme; eg GTA) one altogether. I think gold veriosn are just another way for game companies to make money:( greedy bastards.
It can be upto 15ish(maybe even 18) for a near new double CD. I cant remember the most expensive second hand CD's. But the most general price for old CDs is around 11 pound. The double CDs are usually worth a fair bit more though (New ones ranging in at about 20 quid)
I usually buy second hand CD's but I found out that they can be weird the hard way. For example, most CD's have a clear backing but some people take this out and replace it with a black one to hold the CD im place. This can be annoying expecially if there is an image behind it. I always check for that now.
The thing is, Second hand isnt always the way to go, for example I could have brought a CD in a second hand shop for about 10 to 15 pound, in Virgin Megastores, they had a '5 for 30 pound!' offer, this made all the selected CD's/Games/DVD's/Videos etc a net total of 6 pound each, saving me at least 5 pound.
Besides, half the music I like anyway is local music so the CD's are usually made independantly and therefore:
Dont cost as much because they arent money hungry record companies
Most of the time they play live shows every now and then so I can see them easily anyway, this not only supports the local bands, it also supports the local promoters
Basically, i aggree with some of the other things that have been said, that going to live shows are better, not only is the music better and sometimes more unique, the atmosphere is great, but it also helps out the band a lot more, as well as that, live music can be recorded if you really want a CD of that band that badly.
Google gets some of its money and funding from its advertisements, You know where else it gets its funding from? The US Government.
As far as I know, the most banned search term on google are the things the US government doesnt want people to see. Things like Michelangelos David, Hitlers 'Mein Kamph' and some woks by Lenin are filtered through and not found on goolge before things like sex or porn are filtered. This is because the 3 things I just listed are free political thought that the US government doesnt want people to see.
Results 1 - 10 of about 681,000 for mein kampf
Results 1 - 10 of about 36,700 for michelangelo's david
Results 1 - 10 of about 204,000,000 for sex
This is the filter that was used as well:
Use moderate filtering (Filter explicit images only - default behavior)
GTA does has humour that isnt in missions etc

Some of the funniest things i've seen while playing Vice City arent that various cut scenes or radio shows, but the little things that are hard to notice.
For example, in Vice City, on the second island I think, there is a building called 'fudge packing inc' (i think theres a similar one on GTA3 as well). Im pretty sure there are some other ones but I cant remember them at the moment.
kids pick up all the words you dont want them to pick up. My girlfriends little brother knows how to say no, go away and shut up, and hes only one and a half, i think.
I recon that they will still pick up words like 'no' and things like that, even if you dont say it around them at all.
You must be pretty sad to insult somebody by pointing out the most miniscule spelling mistakes. Whats next, correcting my grammer? Damn Anonymous Cowards.
Anyway, come to think of it, I cant remember there being almost any games for the PS2 this year that have been good, well, they must have relesaed some pretty crap ones if I cant remember any of them anyway.
don't think that GTA:SA is the first AAA title of the year(it is October).
They probably mean first of 2005. Things like this always happen, by december or january they will have 'Guninnis Book of Records - 2005' before anyone gets a chance to break a record that year. Same with compliation CD's, well, in the UK anyway.
Who the fuck is Zonk, why isn't the name a link, why is such a stupid advertisement being posted here, why has nobody else posted a response here asking these things!!!
Ever seen the search thing down the bottom of the page? Try there for starters.
Thats a pretty clever idea actually, also along the kind of things I would do; im rubbish at any form of art or designing characters and thats already done for me.
Well, I think its a really good idea anyway, has there been anything else like this done before?
I've used OpenOffice at school, its really good, one of my ICT teachers said that they were using the spreadsheet part for a few days before even realising it wasnt Excel. I think that Open Office is good for those who dont want to pay loads for new Microsoft software (eg. me)
The only downside with OpenOffice is this: I cant remember what file types you can and cant save it as, but most computers have some version of MS Word on them and the native OO file format doesn't run Word as far as I'm aware, otherwise I would use OO a lot more, expecially in school but its not installed on all the computers.
Besides, OO can save as PDF files which is good, even though I hardly use them, they are a smaller file size then most other text program thingys.
Without the explinations point saying it out loud sounds pretty funny actually.

Shouldn't all April Fools jokes be under the "It's Funny. Laugth" section?

I remember reading on hackaday a few weeks ago about a Gurrilla Solar (PDF) device.
