"It's a clear violation of the first amendment right to free speech to abridge political speech, and NO supreme court, conservative or liberal, would interpret otherwise."
Sprinkle the words "terrorists" and "national security" somewhere in there, and you'd be surprised..
From what i've always been told, a trojan is just another type of virus. An automatically spreading virus that actually exploits flaws in the OS would be a worm, another type of virus.
Is there another definition of virus/trojan/worm that i'm not aware of?
Nintendo has stated again and again that all of their first party online games (for the Nintendo DS, and soon the Revolution) will be completely free to play, apart from the initial cost of the game.
They're also doing a nice little unified online service thing, called the Nintendo WiFi Connection, already in use for the Nintendo DS, and in the works for the unreleased Revolution. It's not on the level of Xbox Live, but, it's free.
There was one more upgrade to the Game Boy line in Japan that never made it to the U.S. or Europe. I can't remember the name of it exactly, but I think it was a lit version of the Gameboy Pocket.
I can't be certain, but, it looks like the face buttons on the DS 'Lite' are actually larger than the original Nintendo DS buttons. They look pretty similar to the buttons on the Gameboy Micro, which isn't a far fetched guess, since it looks like it's using the same d-pad from the Revolution controller.
I kind of think that they don't even need to do a redesign of the Nintendo DS, just release it in a "Jet Black" edition (the same color as the Gamecube systems). It would look much less toy like then.
"I haven't seen it, but I've read that the PS2's version of Resident Evil 4 is the best of all three consoles. This surprised me, but I'll take it on faith. If it's true, it means that they are still figuring out ways to make the PS2 run faster, which is pretty cool."
Resident Evil 4 has only been released on the Nintendo Gamecube and the Playstation 2, no Xbox version. And , the Gamecube version is actually superior to the Playstation 2 version in graphics. For one, polygon counts had to be cut for the PS2 version, and all of the cutscenes are pre-rendered (for the same reason, technical limitations). The Gamecube version renders the cutscenes in realtime, being the more capable system.
However, since the PS2 version did release much later, it got a couple of extra game modes, and another weapon.
I think what we have here is a Slashdigg dupe...posted on Slashdot, then posted on Digg, then someone sees the Digg article and posts it on Slashdot again...if this continues, the universe could be torn apart?
Oh, Protopage does RSS with summaries as well.
On the same subject, I wish there was some way to combine RSS feeds on sites like these. Example: I love reading webcomics, and keeping up with them, but I really don't want 10 different feeds cluttering up the page. I'd like a way to create one "meta-feed", that would just display all entries under one list, sorted by date of course, and prefixed with the name of the site, e.g. "[Penny Arcade!] News: For my Dark Iron Peeps". Some sort of way to auto display webcomics through RSS would be nice as well, essentially creating your own "comics page" (like in the newspapers), except with webcomics.
Sounds about like the Google Homepage (google.com/ig) with a few tweaks. Perhaps you should email Google with your ideas.
To be specific. it does RSS feeds (no summaries yet, I could see it being an option) had a weather applet thing (you can write your own applets now too) calendar is there too.
Another option would be to try this site, http://protopage.com/ . It's somewhat similar to the Google Homepage, except much much more customizable.
It wouldn't even have to be 3D in order to work correctly. You can design your game so the Revolution controller acts as a "laser pointer" of sorts, so you could control an on screen cursor. The underside of the controller has two triggers, so you could use those like the left and right mouse buttons. The "nunchaku" attachment (the thing with an analog stick and two triggers) wouldn't even be needed, you could play the game one-handed.
There's an adult version of the game too, in Japan, though I haven't heard anything about a US/Europe release of that version. So far, it's just the Kid's one.
I've always imagined that once computers are powerful enough to actually simulate every aspect of physics, right down to the atom and everything, we could have games that are essentially as real as life. Imagine having lifelike sound, becuase the game can calculate what sound would be created from the vibration of the atoms in a steel sword hitting a shield, for example. The same thing could be done with lighting, again, with enough power.
I think what they really mean when they say "DVD is dead", is that the DRM for DVD is dead, and that's why they want to move on to Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, so they can have more control.
That sounds a lot like how, in older systems, you'd have to plug a cable from your CD-ROM drive to the sound card in order to play audio CDs

Did you know that "gullible" isn't in the dictionary?
The teenage hax0r himself posted it, with a link to his weblog.

This story actually broke on Digg.com by the way, not mentioned in the summary.

The same exact thing could be said for Windows security for the most part. There seems to be a double standard for OSX..
You forget to mention, that to claim the prize, you'd have to fly to Moscow.

Kind of pointless though, since don't both of those games have native Linux versions?
The site is down, but of course Google still has a cache of it here:

It was already on Digg, that's why.

I just love touching the heatsink after a good session of gaming, and now I can't with the Xbox 360; I gotta get this product now!
