This is Slashodt we're some of the most cynical people on the face of the planet, I wouldn't take something as fact regardless of whether I was reading it in Britannica or Wikipedia, I'd want to confirm it by using multiple sources...
all i know is the people who constantly vented their anger about how long sp2 was taking to be released were even more pissed off wne their machine didn't come back up after the install/reboot... other than patching some vaulnerabilities that were being exploited by worms most people using alternatives to ie didn't need the 100's of irrelevant patches in the sp
there's no doubt that the die hard hl freaks are going to rush to the stores and pick up their collectors edition but you have to wonder how the market in general will take this very late release, especially since halo 2 was able to debut before hl2
i can't remember the last time this much excitement was generated (in north america) over a nintendo product... it looks like they may have finally produced a killer product...
if the "wireless speakers" got their sound over the power lines and you were also runing broadband/network over them wouldn't that possibly cause interferance?
a communist country with cutting edge technology, a booming economy, massive censorship, and a constantly expanding middle class... something is really messed up in that country... at what point do they have to let the whole communist thing go and aknowledge that the gov can't run the whole show?
shoulld the colombians waste time developing new chemicals or round up and drown their drug lords in the chemicals they already have... they waste time spraying an insignificant percentage of the country's crop to appease the U.S.
nukes are a great solution, the problem is you only get to make 1 mistake and then public outcry will force government to stop it's progression for a couple of decades... there are lots of countries, many of them certainly not economic super-stars that have managed to make nuclear power work and have benefited greatly...
aol has always been impressive in how long it's taken to die... many people (including me) thought it wouldn't survive the 90's... taking over twx was the most amazing con job i've seen in a long time... now that twx is in charge of the relationship aol can skrink, reinvent itself, and continue on the path to a much smaller and less profitable company...
lots of people will be really happy about this... especially a few i know who already bought it for their pc because it "wasn't available for their mac"
They would "love this" because more popular applications being available for platforms other than Windows is potentially bad for their (microsoft's) business... Hope that clears things up...

so hardware will be free, people will pay for software, and instead of remembering passwords we will have hardware that we paid??? m$ for?
abolish every institution that infringes on any constitutional right... oh wait we wouldn't be left with anything...
= a much smaller service pack

NASA is spending profane amounts of money on an interplanetary com system and some mofo is wondering if it could lead to better TV...
looks like there's a law suit in someone's gold box...

it's my understanding that many crazy people, even those who have never played cs are dressed like characters from counter strike
looks like the trend these days is to get better discounts from m$ by publicly talking about how "viable" linux is... pretty sad.
