    Those companies aren't big enough, they may go out of business any minute now, blah blah blah.
    Microsoft are big - big enough to hire more and better lawyers than most companies who might wish to sue them. So you can't win either way.

    Can you write a small quantity (less than 100 bytes) per session without using ten times that due to how the file clustering works? Can a file span sessions? Is there a limit to the number of sessions and if so what is it? What about the overhead used in session management?

    I don't know all the answers, but I suspect it's not quite as simple as you suggest.

    There shouldn't be lawsuits for any amount in that situation. If you're knowingly committing a crime then the consequences should be on your head, period. Don't like it, then don't do it.

    Do they have some kind of private area? If not, what's to stop a competitor sending someone to spy on them, or virtually disrupting the meeting? That would be kind of fun, busting in on them and kicking their asses...

    They don't need to acknowledge or understand it, they just need to hand over the money. DRM, activation, trusted computing - those are the methods M$ will use.

    You never nmentioned going to school and working at the same time in your original post (do you think withholding information so you can reply with an "Ha! But..." makes you smart? Well it doesn't), and I don't see the relevance.

    In any case, it's still true that if you're starting out as say, a software engineer you'll probably be getting paid a reasonable salary - considerbalty more than a musician will when he's starting.

    It's not as if that rent magically appeared on your account every month and you could use it as you wanted. No, it went directly into paying your mortgage.
    I'm not really an expert on real estate, but I think the trick is to charge a rent that's higher than the mortgage payment and keep the surplus.

    Apologies if you don't, but most people get what's called a salary during that period.

    There are plenty of jobs like that. Unfortunately for you, the vast majority require at least a basic level of literacy.
