Hear, hear. There will always be richer, faster, better people than yourself (with apologies to the Six Million Dollar Man), so learn to live with your jealousy.;)
On a personal note, I came out to Los Angeles in 1988 to look for work, and not knowing any better, one of the first people I had on my list to talk to was Syd Mead, the man responsible for the "look" of Blade Runner. I was just out of school, and he was extremely generous with his time. We talked for about 2 hours at his home-office while his painting assistant kept coming in asking about color choices for a science-fiction environment illustration he was working on. Syd spoke at great length with me about technology and (at that time) near term tech that was about to come out. I mostly didn't know what he was talking about, so I just nodded appreciatively. He's a first class guy.
If you want to get in on the ground floor with some inventive new music makers, I'd highly recommend going to www.icompositions.com or even www.garageband.com for free music that is frankly, much more interesting than the current charts. I prefer iCompositions because it is a bit more experimental and collaborative in nature.
Sorry, but lawyers only do what you tell them to do. I learned this first hand from a very sticky contract language dispute. A lawyer will more or less, ask you what you want to do, and then advise you to the best of their abilities how to do it.
The Chinese already have punk rock. I was there Christmas of 2000 (and yes, they also have Christmas) and enjoyed the strains of rap-rock by a band called (I think) Bad Motherfuckers.
It was an illuminating trip, to say the least.
I attended a pre-dot-bomb Go.com dinner party in Hollywood followed by a free House of Blues concert with K.C. and the Sunshine Band. They spent an unbelievable amount of money wooing partners at this party, and I kid you not, 90 percent of the people I spoke to knew dick. They called themselves "producers", as if that meant something. Most of their people were very young and knew nothing about business. Stupid times...
The fools had it coming.
Actually, I found it alarming that this idiot's face AND his home's street names (!) were shown on the news. Encouraging psychos to attack his family, or what? Unbelievable.
Haven't seen it yet, but just to tell you from personal experience, Disney is a dying bloated whale. So many execs and talented people have left there recently and the remaining talented people are looking. A business acquantince of mine left to go back to Warner Bros. and filled me in. Of course, with forward-looking organizations like Pixar, the really talented should always find a "home".
Microsoft is the kind of cult that ends in mass suicide.

Another unsuspecting PC user falls into line... hee, hee! My plan is all coming together perfectly!

Remember, Google's search results are in ENGLISH. They'll never figure out how to use the damn thing! ;)

Aren't there anti-fraud laws that would apply to this?
>>For musical experimentation try www.garageband.com.
I find garageband.com a little too mainstream.
Check out icompositions.com if you want more underground and experimental stuff. I can recommend JHarley and Lilichi as two cool experimenters.
Have fun.
Yeah... but on the other hand, you have to live in France.
...while he laughed and laughed and laughed...

What about wireless recording or streaming HDTV quality video from/to your new handheld Apple iVid digital media center?
What could be simpler?
France-bashing is so outré. :)
Point taken, but "China's products" are the world's products.

I wonder if Steve Jobs is going to make an announcement on the 11th that will either mirror or compliment this HP announcement?
Sounds like an idea that would instantly encourage collusion between contractors.
Wasn't Dean's Stirling Engine just about ready to revolutionize the world...um... about a year (or so) ago?
Do you really have to resort to such nonsensical hyperbole for an eye-catching headline? Leave that crap for Fox News.

Perhaps George Lucas had something to do with it...
