LAN parties, and not just you and some buddies, but major Starcraft tournaments. If you have hundreds of people in a convention hall, you would have to have a massive pipe in order for everyone to get on the Internet to log in to Battle.net just to play a game with someone who is sitting right next to them.
We had to play Mortal Kombat (blood code enabled) in secret since my friend's mom saw an expose on the horrible violence that was in the game. They never batted an eye to the fact that we played Doom 2 for 4-5 hours a night, every night of the summer for about 3 years.
Kansas is nothing like Utah. Utah is a mostly a Mormon state. Kansas does not have an inflential religion like that. If anything, most people I've met are Catholic and I've been here for 6 years. I think this is just an unfortunate situation where the wingnuts have an agenda, and unfortunately have a few people in power to force the agenda.
You can't get Type 1 diabetes from a poor diet. Nice joke though. I'm sure my little brother, who has been taking insulin shots since he was 6 years old, would find it hillarious.
This program doesn't actually detect spyware/adware/malware, but rather it shows all items that are currently loaded on your system. It does have some helpful hints as to what these itmes might be, but doesn't specifically tell you if something is malware. You have to be saavy enough to figure it out yourself. I've gotten rid of a few nasty progs with this helpful tool.
It's called the Uncanny Valley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley). If a robot becomes too humanlike, but still robot enough to not fool you, then you are repulsed.
This is only in theory of course as no robot has even come close to acting like a realistic human. Some think it does apply to things like creatures in movies and such as well.
Funny, but true. The RIAA HAS to know P2P isn't as big a threat as they make it out to be? Then why do they waste their time suing the bejeezus out of 90 year old women and kids in diapers instead of attacking the real issue, which is shitty carbon copy music with no soul?
I know I'm only one person, but I've heard this a lot. I've probably bought MORE music because I've downloaded songs than I would have otherwise. I get to listen to bands and records my local CD stores DO NOT carry. Sure I have a lot of illegal MP3s (not nearly as many as some people), but you have to look at opportunity cost. Would I have bought all of these CDs if I had not been able to download them? Hell no. I buy as many CDs as financially possible.
The RIAA also always forgets to mention the economy has been doing pretty bad for the last 4-5 years, which conveniently coincides with a large decline in CD sales. I guess they don't really want to bring the "music vs. eating" disccusion....
If the frequency is 100,000 times that of current CPUs, the chip could be more simplistic because it could process more instructions per second.
I don't know how much fat you'd have to trim to get it down to a "few millimeters." So a few could be 3 or 4 milimeters which would be.3 or.4 centimeters, so 30 to 40% the size of today's current CPUs, operating at 100,000 times the frequency. I suppose you could even do the dual core thing and have 60-80% of the size of a normal CPU. OR....
While an all-plasmonic chip might be feasible someday, Brongersma expects that in the near term, plasmonic wires will act as high-traffic freeways on chips with otherwise conventional electronics.
That sounds more feasible than building an entire chip in this fashion. Just plug it in where you need it.
I was playing Wolfenstein, Doom, and the ORIGINAL GTA when I was in my early teens. I would deathmatch with my friend all night long for the entire summer. And guess what? I have never killed anyone and have hardly ever been in any trouble at all.
I realize Vice City is a little more advanced than those old timer games, but the thought is still the same. Kids that respond negatively to things in video games are already messed up for some other reason. Maybe because their parents are spending too much time playing video games and not playing catch or helping them with their homework. A caring family environment should override anything in a highly fictious video game. That is unless the kid has some chemical imbalance that is all the rage these days.
FUCK China. Fuck them in their stupid asses. The government is so full of shit it's coming out their noses. Say what you want about Bush & Co. or our whole "democracy", but would you trade it for China's dictatorship?
I agree. It's just a bunch of Star Wars nerds making a movie. I've seen a few Star Wars fan films, and the acting is aslways sub-par. I guess that's why they're just fan films.
Because Oklahoma sucks and Nebraska blows. NyuckNyuckNyuckNyuckNyuck
For some reason ftp.pbs.org has port 21 open for business. Can someone explain to me why they aren't using SFTP on 22?
linux and gaming
True. Most of the touch screen games in bars are Linux based. I know because I see them crash all the time.

11 meters long and two lanes wide, 59,000 kilograms of Chinese pride, CANYONERO!

This means that only 8.71% of people that use computers are intelligent.
I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.
I hope you're not a member of PETA, unless it's the People for Eating Tastey Animals variety.
It's nucUlar, dummy. The 's' is silent.
See, this will only happen when we get politicians that aren't bloodsucking scumbags.
You need to use HiJack This. http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Anyone that thinks hunting isn't a sport has never hunted before.

How about Global Thermonuclear War?
Oh wait, nevermind, still XP.

My money is still on carbon nanotubes, though.
Awwww...does this mean they scrapped the Google Moonbase http://www.google.com/jobs/lunar_job.html/ they started at this time last year?
