Bush is one of worst presidents by historical analysis. You can count on objective view of many historians. bla bla bla(about 80KB of it). Irrelevant Statistics,Historical paralells,Agenda of administration explained.

    -
I think G.W.Bush in fifty years will be remembered as "patriotic" "Just" "somewhat authoritarian" and his misdeeds are whitewashed or even forgotten completely(except his new laws, which will carry on and impede democracy for decades. They would be seen as natural though when you live under such laws for long).History is objective? I never believed that.

HISTORY IS ALWAYS INFLUENCED BY CURRENT POLITICS.

There have been presidents -- Harry Truman was one -- who have left office in seeming disgrace, only to rebound in the estimates of later scholars.

each detail and setting become distorted and/or redefined viewing through historic caleidoscope. We don't know the facts we trust history to be reliable "enough".Media is a product of the historical period where it produced,it doesn't help to have an documentary when it composed by biased authors who present something in distorted view.
    Interpretation is left to historians.

    I don't support historical revisionism/republicans/Bush/etc...
    Just a common sceptic viewpoint.
I just point out this criticism is
from a "Lincoln is better" venue (while convinietly ignore changes brought by time/social progress/etc) when Lincoln is not relevant to current politics(his Political Views have influence though). You as well recruit Jesus and Hitler and start speculating
    on similarities and approval ratings.
This is Invalid point of view(its a politics debate masquerading as valid fact sheet;approval numbers mean nothing(the context of polls, political situation, media attention, propoganda mean everything.Society is easily influenced. The approval of Bush for ex.)) . Bush should be judged based on current politics and current situation. His policies laws and
agenda should be documented and studied
throughly as historics do.In unbiased way (Neutral Point Of View in wikispeak) representing maximum information on the subject.Let the comparisions to historic speculations field and statistics discussion to politicians and statistics.
Factual unbiased history is what we need.
Opinions make history less historic and more political.
I hope NPOV will get accepted as common
practice (wikipedia does.It works.Bias is removed as POV(point of View)) Or we will have to read wiki exclusively to 'get the facts'.

You have to tell this to all website developers who use flash(as part of menus, content,or software such as games).Flash is common technology.
Some sites (although i never approve of)
use Flash as a way to deliver their content. Its not unlike you can froce them to use text and demand Macromedia to stop distributing Flash because it
    "Can be used for ads".

Everythign can eb used for ads.If you want to block something use AdBlock or hosts file.Blocking a ad-hosting agency is better then just relying on Flash being disabled.

Case in point:If i disabled Flash,i'd have to reenable Each Time to few flash games sites, and specific sites who use Flash as online application platform.
Flash is very useful to developers. There
better ways to deliver content(text) but Flash has more uses then just a menu,ad or random flash game you encounter.
Rejecting Flash is equivalent Rejecting a whole technology, regardless of it application, judging on "harmful appllications". Absurd? Well
unless you subscribe to anarcho-primitivism or other ideology opposed to progress, this view is deficient.

I understood this when i realized that Bikes Can't replace Cars.
Cars are New technology that has apllications greater and superior on some aspects then for bikes(bulk content delivery by trucks for example) or any lower tech(such as horse carriage).
Despite their detrimental impact on enviompment, pollution and car accidents.
Cars have contributed much to development of modern society and it would be never considered Modern without this technology(not specifically cars, the category of Mass transport and delivery).
Rejecting Flash becuase of ads is rejecting Cars because of Car accidents/pollution/etc without any adequate alternatives,i.e. Telling people to stop using cars and get on bikes instead(In principle the idea is fine if society isn't dependant on Cars(not necessary for mass transport),which most modern societies Do.).You can't reject technology that way.You need an alternative to Flash that
does all Flash does and is better(not showing ads in some magical way) before you block it(i advise just blocking the ad sites, not blocking Flash itself).

The ceremony is a show.It has symbolic purpose only.In that specific culture(which DETERMINES EVEN : player of instrument X specifically to perform specific song Y) setting.
Making an easier ceremony by not using real players (which are rare in the military ,on slashdotters posts) is
improving efficiency and should be encouraged instead of blatant claims of anti-patriotism or something in that venue(such as "goverment doesn't want to pay" for real players).

    Moral panics are political dream.

excuse which is reasonable it doesn't matter what the laws turn out to.
    Terrorism,child porn,bioweapons,rebellion,
    anything scary enough to use.
Its goose that lays the golden eggs.
Manipulating society emotions, fears, attitudes, trends for own causes is extremely efficient tactic.
People at large are sheep(yes, that right.Rigid self-enforcing system beased on memeplexes(a codes of memes) people replicate and absorb from authority)),since "normal" social structures are built to rule the sheep.
few people fight against indoctrination and social rules.Easy to be a sheep.

Its like a lever. To turn it you need excuses. When you got an excuse you turn it.turning it back requires much effort and much better excuses.Excuse is power.

I'm sure the Patriot act was seen as
    measure to fight terrorism.But terrorism isn't a real force/army/organization,it a movement[Notice the -ISM:Fascism,Communism,terrorism].Abstract definition of
"insurgent activity" or "rebellion" doesn't make it different from usual murder/kidnapping/civil disobedience.

Terrorism is a control system: "rule by terror" the -ism implies that terror is
    the desired objective.To make it
more powerful it needs victims to manipulate.Furthering the cause of terrorism advertising it effects and exxeragating the threats make terrorism
    what it is.

Its not a war,its intimidation,War on terror is war on Fear.Ignoring your fear is different then making it a central opponent, and telling everyone how you prepared to fight it.
Scare tactics benefit only when there is way to scare.

If you see further terrorism is what media tells us is.What if media was under control of goverment and labeled
terrorist symphatizers or terrorists any group that opposes goverment's politics
(which is the case of USSR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enemy_of_the_state http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enemy_of_the_people ). ex:If you oppose current Bush administration(doesn't have to be terrorism related) you're suddenly terrorist symphatizer or unpatriotic.

So Eradicating something Requires measures that interfer with all
potential terrorists,a convinient domestic terrorism category and some redefinitions to help cover as much it
can extend to "a terrorist who was not an agent of a foreign power could be the target of a federal investigation of foreign intelligence" "Excludable Aliens." "lone wolf terrorists" and such nonsense(that has as much relation to terrorism as weapon manufacturers and psychos have).

Surveilance of Financial help to terrorists,Potential communication to
potential terrorists, potential terrorist activity, collecting information relevant to terrorism(or information that helps figthing terrorism) etc.One step closer to 1984
    Some of these "potential communication"
    maybe even yours.Wiretapping ISPs.

Forget about child porn, thoughtcrimes, terrorism, ,the real idea behind this is getting more information (and control).
    Surveillance
is easy to coerce when you have the moral backing and justification. No one thinks about it: what authority does with information they collect is their own business. There is no feedback. They may use it for any purpose, they already have the data.NSA and ATT datamining story just shows what going behind the scenes. http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/04/07/12 46259&from=rss
They want it to become legal.Child porn
is a best excuse they can conjure at the moment.

Now you get to arguments "If you're innocent you have nothing to worry about" and the slippery slope of "innocent" "Loyal" "patriotic".With a
slight redefiniton of innocent every step
