I once saw a Japanese toilet in a.. eh.. TV show.. anyway, they didn't use toilet paper over there, they just had the toilet splash some water up your arse. But then again, ain't that an old French trick?
Hmm... what if they used that digital paper stuff - you know, that doesn't need continuous current. That would be sweet, and since the keys probably aren't changing all the time it wouldn't matter if the images wouldn't refresh that fast.
... Because distributing food and medicine in Africa is such an easy task, and we all know how much the US contributes to the poor countries - besides handing out chocolate bars to Iraqi kids when the cameras are on...
Or it could be controlled by a supranational institution, such as the United Nations?

I'm living in Denmark,
where the vast majority of the education system is public (even the universities are free of charge). That means that a very high percentage of the population gets an education. While many of the schools aren't as fancy as their US counterparts (the money is divided between the wealthy and the not-so-wealthy areas), everybody is given the same opportunities. Where you live and who your parents are doesn't matter.
I think the biggest problem with the US system is that education has become an expense for the citizens. Not only do they have less or no time to work, they actually have to pay for being educated (bare in mind that the education of citizens makes a great, positive impact on a country in more ways than one). Here in Denmark (and Norway and Sweden too, I think) we actually *pay* people to study (SU).
However, I think there's a bigger chance for stealing IE's market share than Firefox's. Personally i think the best way to make the web standards-complient (read: make MS work on IE) is if the "alternative" collaborated more.
What about adding text labels to files? That way one file can have multiple labels, and can be accessed through several ways with a Labels View or something.
You could for instance label all pictures with your buddy John Doe "john". That way you can quickly find those pictures, even though they lie in different folders ("drunk in florida 2001", "drunk in hawaii 2003").
Sure, that's true! Last year I was standing next to a house, smoking some weed, when I lost my balance, tripped, and fell through a window! I thought I might as well crash there, so I took a nap in the owner's bed.
Why not make a package file that not only contained the package(s) itself and a list of dependencies, but also a list of URLs and/or repositories where those dependencies could be found. That way it would be possible to download a package file, open it, and have all dependencies installed automatically.

Dude, this is Slashdot. Of course it's a guy...
Maybe, but *she* has been stolen, and I don't think the thieves give a shit.
I see you're back, Mr. President...
I very much doubt that (yes, I'm European).

So SCO should try to prove that there *isn't* Unix code in Linux?

Damn, so we can't put the stuff in Iraq, either!

Slashdot just saved my day!
I guess that's why Google's getting into the satellite imagery business...
Will there be a version for Linux? :)

... Here in Denmark, the tst is split up in two - one with, and one without a calculator (and yes, we use TI as well. Gotta love Drifter!)

I smell a cover-up. Better call my man Mulder!
The server has some moronic hotlink prevention. Just copy and paste the URL to the address bar. That ought to do it.
