I'm gonna make this even though i'm sure i wont get modded up [bad habits with that, haha]. I've been on this website for like 4 years now, and i've rarely posted, and only a few years ago did i even register. I do have a few questions though, i hope they get answered.

    1) What is the actual web browser statistics for a current day? i've always been curious about the flow of firefox, and the different webbrowers [since i've read slashdot in all the browsers, including lynx :p]

    2) Whatever happened to the OMG PONIES!?!? theme? i vote for it to come back for october 20th, as a tribute to what slashdot really is! [that, and i was kinda disappointed it never showed up last april :(]

    3) Since this is about ask you, i'll ask one about you as well. How often do you, yourself look at the website? do you read the comments also? Sometimes i wonder if you post under a pseudonym just so people dont automatically mod you +5 if you interacted in the comments.

Anyway, congratulations on 10 years, i'm really glad i get to be part of it, this website has become one of my very favorite.

You in the gaming nation have tried to marginalize and threaten and harm me, and I understand, but you now are starting to figure out what this fight has been about. It has not been about "banning games" or "banning even violent games." It has been about stopping the marketing and sale of mature and adult games to minors. Period.

not to be rude, but they already ID check the sale of M rated games [EB and Gamestop has a store policy that if they sell a M rated game to a minor, the employee gets fired, as well as the boss]. Was there somthing else you had in mind from keeping games away from minors?

I feel the same way, granted i havent used linux since redhat [and the random knoppix session to backup my data / show people an alternative]. I run a windows blind-esque shell that makes my comp look like osx, but truth be told i enjoy the Windows XP kernel more than OSX itself.

    why? compatibility.

I enjoy being able to play the random game, and finding the random program, and realizing i dont have to toy with it to work or be left out because it isnt my build. I'm not a hardcore gamer in the sense of playing for 12 hours straight, but i enjoy checking out free MMO games that are offered [like Ragnarok Online in the beta stage] some of which actually use active X to launch.. which would leave me out on the other platforms. Good to see your thinking for yourself! (^v^)

Since you posted anon i cant really see who you are, but as a follower of japanese music for a while now, all i can say is it's MORE expensive to pay for things for japanese media, but i consider it worth it.

you have to be a moron to think japanese music will take over the world, when they cost ~$10 for a single and ~$47 for an album. people complain about the prices as it is now, what in the hell will make people change their mind when they complain about ~$16 normal cds?

Oh, it's also implemented into Diablo II and i think Starcraft. That always seems to get overlooked though.. probably because it is a second generation game and not as many people play it, since it isnt new anymore.. [but still fun as hell ;)].

This goes out to everyone who is looking at warden who isnt just on WoW, but on DII and Sc and others... keep researching, keep up the good work ;)

  18. P2P and music on Has P2P Influenced Your Music Tastes? · · Score: 1

As i said before, p2p isnt only good for finding different genres of music, it's also godly for identifing music you've already heard, but cant place. It's hard sometimes, other than doing extensive searches on the web for every group [techno is espically like this... too much "what's this song called?"] A lot of things are to blame, like for one radios dont say the song name for every song. Over where i live thou, there's a new station that says every song name, and advertises like that. And guess what? people listen to it just so they arent bothered with the "what's that song" mindset. on another note, is there any techno/trance radio stations out there? the closest i've ever heard was a "dance" station, and all the others are pretty much mainstream rock/pop :(

  19. Re:Not at all on Has P2P Influenced Your Music Tastes? · · Score: 1

dunno where you live, but here, it's everything mainstream, the stuff i buy is online ONLY. The only music store here are samgoody, nothing techno or jpop based [excuse me, there's a section with 10 cds of karaoke that is labeled "Techno"]. If you can find the store, you can listen and buy, but here, it's the internet or nothing.

  20. Euromusic/Jpop/Jrock for teh win on Has P2P Influenced Your Music Tastes? · · Score: 1

i dont like euro a lot... too awkward for me :/. What inspired me to write this article was i was listening to Ayumi hamasaki's new album [no link necessary] and thought it'd be a good topic and curious who's into since i went from rock to such diversified tastes, thought it was this "hidden source" [i have yet to find any real broadcasting radio company to play techno/trance or anything non mainstream besides jazz]

my friend du0 just drove cross country a while back, looking for a good trance station, and ended up listening to his cds, and being very disappointed... maybe it's just his bad luck, but i was quite shocked with what he said :(

P.S. p2p also told me actual artists for songs that people can hum, but not know the name, enabling me to buy their album [sandstorm, by darude, for a very good example]
