    A load of these licences have thingies saying ''blah blah as permissible by local laws blah blah'' so presumably, this automatically removes any parts not allowed by local laws and thus saves the contract from becoming totally void.

    umm, China and their thousands of multi warhead ICBM's, and tactical nukes, which could probably destroy every city and military installation in India within minutes, while the Indians are still deciding which two dozen targets to strike at with their single warheads on their midrange missiles.

    Also, perhaps you ought to remember, that India got a teeny little satellite back from orbit, this week, China got a capsule with a dude inside back from orbit over a year ago. Ummm, who has the best tech again?

    Most people can't stand 'the man' getting one up on them, and so if they look at thier network usage and it is at 75%, then clearly, 'the man' is shafting them out of that unused 25% and so they must put on one more torrent in the background just to stick it to 'the man' and make sure they get all 100% of what is rightfully theirs, and not a kbs less.

    My office XP demanded re-validating after i changed my CD drive for... itself!

    I took my CD drive out cos it was playing up, and when I put it back in, Office claimed it was a hardware change!

    I think that when the GP said stringent they meant dudes with billy clubs bursting in on people with pirate copys and dragging them off to jail.

    All US based porn sites must have a record of the identity of all their models, and will have an 18 U.S.C. 2257 Compliance Notice, with the address of one or more custodians of records, who hold the record proving the age and identity of all the models.

    so if a site has the notice, you can be sure it is ok, tho, that doesn't mean it isn't legit if it doesn't have a notice, it could just mean it's based outside the US.

    a steep learning curve does not mean it is easy to learn, it just means you are forced to learn lots quickly in order to make any progress. Steep or shallow, it doesn't impact on how hard it is, only the change in rate at which you learn.
